Day 1: Marvellous – BRICS Games
So this is a major first for us and our world. The BRICS games are on.
Putin opened the Games:
“I declare the 2024 BRICS Sports Games open!” Putin said in a video address to the participants of the games, and called the event an important part of “comprehensive political, economic and humanitarian interaction.”
The Russian leader also said that the role of BRICS in world affairs is “growing rapidly,” adding that the attractiveness of the sports games will also increase.
“All this fully reflects the spirit and character of the BRICS itself — an association of sovereign countries that are developing dynamically, preserving their identity, solving large-scale tasks together, showing an example of true partnership and equal relations based on trust, strong friendship and respect for each other’s interests,” Putin said.
Go and take a look at what these games are all about. We already have medal holders:
As a comparison, the first Olympic games took place in 1896. Fourteen nations (kinda plus-minus and disputed) and 241 athletes (all males; this number is also disputed) took part in the games. Participants were all European, or living in Europe, most were Greek, except the United States team.
Now, we are pluri-polar, we’re beginning to live in the pluri-verse, and those forgotten with the first Olympic games, are not forgotten this time.
