Imran Khan: Much of the story is now in the open and yes, the usual suspects

The US State Department pushed the Pakistani government in 2022 to remove Imran Khan from the post of prime minister due to his neutrality regarding the Russian special operation, Intercept writes, citing a secret government document that came into his possession.

Most everyone now knows that Khan has been jailed for 3 years on very spurious charges but the most important is that he is prohibited of taking part in the next election or in politics for 5 years. (The full story is somewhat like the Donald Trump story, only the details are different).

We are talking about a meeting that took place on March 7 of that year with the participation of Pakistani Ambassador Asad Majid Khan and two high-ranking representatives of the State Department. Following the discussion, the Pakistani emissary sent a telegram to Islamabad saying that Washington had promised to establish “warmer relations” if Khan was removed from his post. Otherwise, the US threatened its partner with “isolation”.

The Intercept broke the story and published the cypher :ย  https://theintercept.com/2023/08/09/imran-khan-pakistan-cypher-ukraine-russia/

And the usual suspects say the usual things. They are Oh So Innocent:

But that is only the tip of the iceberg. Pakistan is a SCO member and a major Chinese BRI member. Yet Pakistan has just abandoned a gas pipeline project with Iran due to US sanctions threat. https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20230807-pakistan-abandons-gas-pipeline-project-with-iran-due-to-us-sanctions-threat/

There has been talk about this for a while. The Pakistan basis for breaking this agreement is: “Pakistan has issued a Force Majeure and Excusing Event notice to Iran under the Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement (GSPA), which resultantly suspends Pakistan’s obligations under the GSPA.”

So the threat of US sanctions is now considered Force Majeure? An Act of God in simple language? Do you not find something seriously disturbing about this? The fine alone for Pakistan was calculated already 2 years ago at 18B. There was much talk about the ability of Khan to run his country although in terms of popularity, there are few that are more popular. I wonder if a fine of 18 Billion as well as US Sanctions being an Act of God is worth whatever the Pakistani Politicians put into their own pockets?

Now quietly reverse the pipeline position or form a “private” proxy to finish the job.
