Bangladesh’s No-Debt Padma Bridge and Rail Link
Chinese engineering firm builds Bangladesh’s longest bridge with the costs paid by Bangladesh:
2022 – Bangladesh inaugurated the bridge over the turbulent Padma river on June 25, more than two decades after work on it first started.
2024 – The 172km rail project is scheduled for completion in 2024 and will connect the 21 districts between Dhaka and Jashore in the southwest of Bangladesh.
The 6.51km (4.04 mile) bridge spanning the Padma River cost an estimated US$3.6 billion and was paid for with domestic funds after the World Bank and other global lending agencies declined to finance the project following a corruption scandal involving a Canadian construction company. The bridge was expected to boost the GDP of Bangladesh by 1.23 to 1.50 percent. It connects 13 districts (of a total 21) to other regions of the country. As a result, the distance between the capital, Dhaka, and Bangladesh’s second largest seaport, Mongla, was slashed by 100km (62 miles). The Padma bridge avoids the pitfalls of external debt trap and regional rivalries.

I’ve said many times, the Chinese choose their path of development and win-win cooperation, and the people’s prosperity continues to climb. The Judeo-West prefers wars, usury, resource theft, genocidal sanctions and the slaughter of millions of dark-skinned non-Jews every year, as its hapless citizens see their standards of living being driven into the dirt.
And people wonder why on Earth would the Global Majority prefer working with Baba Beijing (and Russia), rather than Uncle Slaughter and the Evil Union.
After reading this information, if you were a country’s leader, which would you prefer: China or the Talmud-Tanakh West?

China wins by helping the Global South lay the foundations for prosperity (building roads, railways, schools, hospitals, etc. Infrastructure projects at value for money, not greedy pricing with loans. China does not dictate the recipients economics nor political model, nor attach geopolitical foreign policy conditions.
By helping these countries grow their economies, China not only builds goodwill across the world but helps create demand for high quality, creative, reasonably priced Chinese products. This is part of the reason why China is able to do so well under the US’s initiated trade and tech wars with an export surplus reaching $1.2 trillion (China reported a $US1.2 trillion trade surplus in 2025 despite the US trade war).
