Great speech by Prof Kishore Mabubhani (former Singapore UN Ambassador): facing an audiences growth up in a well funded propaganda and fake news environments, Dr. Mabubhani begins his truth telling speech by apologizing to the audiences fearing they might be upset by what he is about to say.
Since WW2, the West forced the world to open up for their propaganda and fake news in the name of freedom of speech and freedom of the press, while censorship truth telling news themselves.
China had on the other hand censored well funded and well organised fake news from the West, and was demonised as dictatorship and lack of civil rights.
As a result of such decades of truth censorship in the west, plus decades of fake news propaganda, truth telling in the West can become an offensive behaviour. So, it is wise for Dr. Mabubhani to say “sorry” before he begins his truth telling speech. Enjoys:
