The headquarters said the US carried out the attack while ignoring its commitments and while Iran was mourning the martyred leader of the Islamic Ummah. Iran’s Armed Forces warned that they will deliver a decisive response to the American aggression. The statement stressed that Iran will not allow the US to interfere in the affairs of the Strait of Hormuz or its management. It also reaffirmed that the only safe passage for commercial vessels and oil tankers through the strait is the route designated by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A second series of US strikes on Iran has started targeting Sirik and Qeshm Island in southern Iran. These strikes came shortly after the US announced revoking its authorization per the MoU for operations with Iranian oil from July 7, banning new transactions and allowing existing deals to be wound down only until July 17.
📄 Just two weeks ago, the US issued General License X, authorizing the production, delivery and sale of Iranian crude oil, petrochemical products and petroleum products through August 21, 2026.

Statement by Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the explicit violation of clause 10 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding by the United States
– Less than 20 days after the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, the announcement of the revocation of the general authorization issued on June 21 is another indication of the bad faith, instability, and unreliability of the U.S. ruling establishment.
– This comes despite the fact that over the past 20 days, the United States—either directly or through the actions of the Zionist regime against Lebanon—has repeatedly committed both minor and major violations of various provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding.
– The U.S. government, in keeping with its longstanding practice, has sought to justify its own breaches of its commitments by citing various pretexts while simultaneously violating those commitments.
– The Islamic Republic of Iran will take whatever measures it deems necessary to safeguard its national interests and national security.
