Trilateral talks on Ukraine end in Geneva after 6 hours of discussions
The talks were held behind closed doors at Hotel InterContinental
GENEVA, February 17. /TASS/. The trilateral closed-door talks on the Ukrainian settlement involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine have ended in Geneva after six hours of discussions, a source told TASS.
The talks began at 1:56 p.m. local time (12:56 a.m. GMT). They were held behind closed doors at Hotel InterContinental. The Russian delegation is led by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky.
According to Italian diplomatic sources, Italian, German, French, and British representatives are also present in Geneva. National security advisers from these countries are expected to meet with the Ukrainian and US delegations on the sidelines of the talks.
…
So the EU wanted to storm the negotiations. In addition and reportedly, the Russian delegation flew to Geneva for nine hours.
The Russian aircraft carrying the official group of negotiators on board had to make a huge detour: instead of the usual 3โ4 hours, the flight took almost nine. Most EU countries closed their airspace to the Russian plane.
The aircraft bypassed unfriendly Europe via the Black Sea, Turkey, the Mediterranean Sea, and Italy, which allowed the overflight. The United States helped coordinate the route, and Switzerland guaranteed security.
Undoubtedly, all of this will be documented and remembered by Russia. Such political stupidity and arrogance will become another historical disgrace for Europe.
The negotiations for today have concluded.
