“When you are an enfeebled former superpower teetering on the brink of international and domestic collapse, war inevitably becomes the only mirage your hubris can envision.”

Feb 2

According to various media, US–Iran talks are scheduled for this Friday in Istanbul. Foreign ministers from Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan are expected to take part in the discussions. The involvement of multiple regional countries highlights the seriousness of the situation in terms of a regional war.

According to the Financial Times, upcoming U.S. talks with Iran will be limited to nuclear issues and will not cover Tehran’s ballistic missile program.  Israel demands the following:

– Iran to end nuclear program
– Iran to end missile program
– Iran to end ‘supporting proxies’ in Middle East

Ali Shamkhani, the Leader’s political advisor:

🔺 Iran views the United States and Israel as a single front and any US attack on Iran would also make Israel complicit and subject to retaliation.

🔺Tehran will respond decisively to any act of aggression.

🔺 Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and based on domestic capabilities.

🔺 Enrichment levels could be reduced from 60% to 20%, but only at a cost for the other side.

🔺 We reject transferring nuclear stockpiles abroad; a return to 20% enrichment is feasible.

🔺 Talks are possible only if threats and unreasonable demands are dropped.

🔺 Negotiations must be strictly limited to the nuclear issue, a point the US has also acknowledged.

Prof Marandi:  The Trump regime must either find an off-ramp with help from Tehran and accept that Iran will not sacrifice its sovereignty or its allies, or it will be devastated by Iranian and Axis of Resistance forces across the region.

Israel bombs Lebanon on Mondays and Thursdays. Israel bombs Syria on Wednesdays. Israel bombs Palestine the rest of the week. Only Israel can bomb 3 countries and still be perceived as the victim.

Israel has wiped out 10.6% of Gaza’s population, according to the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights. That’s about the same amount of the Rwandan population that was wiped out in their genocide.

The Rafah crossing opened, under strict Israeli control – 50 Palestinians allowed in and 150 Palestinians allowed out mainly for medical treatment.  Israel always takes what it considers its evil pound of flesh.  Today Israeli forces detonated the Morag Water Station in Rafah, cutting off water for roughly 70,000 people—one-third of the city’s pre-war population.  The station was funded by the Turkish Red Crescent and inaugurated in 2010. In 2025, it had been slated for urgent repairs by Oxfam and Gaza’s water utility.

WSJ and other US media: The US does not have the capacity to sustain air-defense in a battle with Iran. In short, the U.S. buildup is real — but the decisive factor isn’t aircraft carriers or stealth jets. It’s whether Washington can sustain the air-defense burden of an escalation with Iran, a country that has already demonstrated it can strike back and adapt. “It is expensive to move Patriots and THAADs. The probability that they’re going to be used starts to go up”

US Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal introduce the Save the Kurds Act to restore sanctions, enable snapback and seek redesignation of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham as a Foreign Terrorist Organization after attacks on Kurds.

🔴 Act targets Syrian government officials and financial institutions and would reimpose sanctions quickly if the Sharaa regime recommences attacks on Kurdish communities.

🔴 Seeks HTS redesignation; article names Ahmed al-Sharaa (Abu Mohammad al-Julani) as HTS head amid clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the regime and a new SDF–regime integration ceasefire hailed by US Special Envoy Tom Barrack.

🔴 Sponsors cite evidence of Turkish involvement, threats to US troops, released Islamic State prisoners, and call the bill an “insurance policy” to protect Kurds during integration into the Syrian Arab Army.

France is desperately seeking to rebuild colonial influence in Africa.  Key takeaways from statements by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR):

▪️French President Emmanuel Macron instructed the country’s intelligence services to implement a plan to eliminate “undesirable leaders” in Africa

▪️France was involved in the attempted coup in Burkina Faso on January 3, including a failed plot targeting Burkinabe President Traoré and will continue to destabilize countries in the Sahara-Sahel region

▪️Paris is frantically searching for opportunities for a political comeback in Africa

▪️France is considering ways to overthrow Madagascar’s newly elected president Michael Randrianirina

▪️France has turned to openly supporting various terrorist groups, which have become its primary allies on the African continent

More Trump Trouble:  Now it is the UN who said their money to run the UN will run out – mid-year, and they may have to close UN, New York.  Trump said .. no way, the UN has ‘potential’ and he can solve the issue of non-payment of dues from countries.  That is of course in nobody’s interest and personally I hope the UN moves out of New York.

Ukraine talks to take place on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi – Kremlin

The talks were postponed due to the need to coordinate the schedules of the three parties, Kremlin Spox Dmitry Peskov said.

🟠 Russian position on the Ukraine situation remains consistent, and Russia remains open to negotiations

The World:
🇺🇸 USA! SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!

The world is boiling over. People everywhere are trying to seal themselves off from the constant noise pouring out of the United States. The shouting, the threats, the chaos, the endless declarations that change by the hour. It feels impossible to escape.

From the outside, it no longer looks like leadership or even strategy. It looks like living next to a mental institution with the doors ripped open and the loudspeakers turned to maximum volume. Every day brings a new outburst. Every week another crisis manufactured out of ego, fear, or impulse.

Allies are distancing themselves. Markets are bracing. Governments are quietly building buffers, walls, filters, anything that might reduce exposure to the instability.

The message from the rest of the planet is no longer diplomatic.

Enough!

We’re now seeing clear TACO regarding Iran.  But don’t sit back and relax completely, as people tell lies.  The 12-day war started after Trump’s assurances that negotiations were continuing.

Unnamed officials told the Wall Street Journal:The Pentagon finally admitted to why the attack on Iran has been postponed: air defenses in the Middle East are inadequate for the Iranian response

“The U.S. military could conduct limited airstrikes on Iran if the president were to order an attack today, (…) But the kind of decisive attack that Trump has asked the military to prepare would likely prompt a proportional response from Iran, requiring the U.S. to have robust air defenses in place to protect Israel as well as American troops,”

Another issue which prevented the launch of the bombing campaign against Iran was the “lack of clear objectives”, giving the 12 Day War, Operation Midnight Hammer as an operation which had a clear task: destroying Iran’s nuclear reactors, while the current operation is directionless.

Russia’s Shoigu & China’s Wang Yi hold talks in Beijing

Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu underlined the rapid changes in international politics and the swift deterioration of the situation in many regions around the world.

Shoigu remarked that Russia is closely monitoring Japan’s militarization and and supports China on the Taiwan issue.

🔘Russia will start using warships to protect tankers with its oil

The Russian authorities are resorting to such measures due to increasing pressure from NATO countries.

This was announced by the Marine Board under the President of the Russian Federation. According to it, the proposals have already been formed. They will be presented to the head of state in the near future;

🔹🔹🔹🔹

It is all Russia’s fault.

“Epstein’s Sex Empire Was a ‘Honey Trap’ for the KGB”: Brits Have Explained Everything – Epstein Worked for the Kremlin.

“The publication of more than three million new documents related to the late sex offender confirms the loud statements of high-ranking security service representatives. Epstein acted in the interests of Moscow, and possibly Israel, when he organized meetings for some of the most influential people in the world.

Sources note that this may explain why Epstein led a luxurious lifestyle disproportionate to his career as a financier, although there is no documentary evidence of a direct connection between Putin or his special services and Epstein’s criminal activities.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Key takeaways from Dmitry Medvedev’s interview with TASS, Reuters, and the Wargonzo project:

▪️A military victory in the special military operation is already visible across a number of parameters

▪️The goal of victory in the operation in Ukraine is to prevent new conflicts from emerging

▪️The continuity between the special military operation and World War II lies in defending one’s country and closest people

▪️Zelensky will “not keep his head”

▪️Russia has “not found” any submarines that Trump previously said had been deployed

▪️Trump is trying to go down in history as a peacemaker, with mixed results

▪️Contacts between Russia and the United States under Trump have become much more productive, which benefits the process

The Iranian parliament, in response to the decision of Western countries to recognize the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, declared the armies of European states terrorist formations

The story about Russia, Iran and China doing joint excercises in the Persian Gulf, consists of the IRGC Navy who carried out a small scale airborne exercise in the Persian Gulf.  There are planned excercises for the end of February.

Jan 31

What a story!

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Media:  Don’t trust a thing!  There is something that has now spread, and it is this:

Chinese naval vessels have arrived at the Strait of Hormuz to participate in a joint Iran–Russia–China naval drill.

🔹Amid rising tensions between Tehran and Washington, a joint military exercise involving Iran, Russia, and China will be held. The drill will take place on February 1–2 with the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, the Chinese Navy, and the Russian Navy.

‼️ During the exercise, the entry route to the Strait of Hormuz will be closed, and only the exit route will remain open, strictly monitored and subject to safety measures.

👉 This drill near the Strait of Hormuz sends a clear message to the United States!

Let’s see if this happens and I will be very surprised if it does, because it is not realistic.  If we think that Russia and China will escalate in this manner, we must check our thinking.   Do you really think these players will close the Strait of Hormuz in any direction as a gross step of escalation?   There is still sane thinking in our world.  We cannot find it in the western barbarians, but it exists, in the forming multipolar world.

UN risks ‘imminent financial collapse’, secretary general warns.  The United Nations is at risk of “imminent financial collapse” due to member states not paying their fees, the body’s head has warned.  António Guterres said the UN faced a financial crisis which was “deepening, threatening programme delivery”, and that money could run out by July.

(I guess if you don’t do your job, people stop paying you!)

It is wall to wall Epstein Files out there!

Professor Mohammad Marandi: ‘Iran is ready for the Great War of Distraction

Representative Thomas Massie:
If you’re reading Epstein files now, it’s because I’m in Congress and fighting.  I’m not taking all the credit. At least as much goes to Ro Khanna, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Nancy Mace.  And too many documents are still being withheld or redacted, but we’ll get to that too.

XI-STARMER MEETING IN FULL

XI [to AIDE]: They sent an accountant?

AIDE: That’s the Prime Minister of Britain.

XI: Ah, yes, Britain. [Thinks.] Isn’t that the US’s attack puppy?

AIDE: That’s the interesting thing. Used to be. They’re trying to be a bit more independent.

STARMER: Greetings, O Mighty Emperor of the Celestial Kingdom. From distant Albion, a green and pleasant land, I bring offers of trade.

XI: Not opium again, I hope.

STARMER: Ha ha, what a card you are, Mighty Emperor. This time we bring British food and British culture.

XI [to AIDE]: I think I’d rather have the opium.

France released a previously captured tanker of the “shadow fleet,” which had been pompously seized in the Mediterranean Sea a few days ago. As it turned out, the seizure of the tanker was illegal not only under the now-defunct international law but also under French legislation. Therefore, the tanker had to be released, and Macron had to back down.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Russia has agreed to refrain from strikes on energy provision in Ukraine until February 1 at Trump’s request, to create favorable conditions for negotiations — Dmitry Peskov spokesman. (Last year this happened as well, only to have Ukraine break it).

Security guarantees for Ukraine with Russia were not agreed upon. “Nobody agreed on this with the Russian side.” Ushakov noted the importance of the territorial issue, but clarified that this is not the only topic being discussed about Ukraine. — Yuri Ushakov

Don’t take your source of information the Trump administration or Zelensky or main stream. They think because they leak something to the press and play media games, it is agreed. It is salami slicing to try and force small concessions from Russia. The spirit of Anchorage is dead.

Liberated over the past 24 hours
: Berestok (Donetsk People’s Republic, Ternovatoye in Zaporozhye region, and took control over Rechnoye (Zaporzhye region).

From 24 to 30 January
, in response to Ukrainian terrorist attacks launched on civilian facilities in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out one massive and six group strikes, as a result of which the AFU suffered losses as follows:

🔹 defence industry enterprises of Ukraine,
🔹 power and transport infrastructure facilities that supported the AFU,
🔹 ammunition and POL depots,
🔹 production facilities and storage areas of attack unmanned aerial vehicles,
🔹 temporary deployment areas of AFU formations and foreign mercenaries.

Russian air defenses have downed 46 HIMARS rockets and 822 fixed-wing drones of Ukraine in the past week as well as an unmanned boat in the Black Sea.

The issues of self-determination and territorial integrity:
Russia is harshly criticizing the head of the UN, who said that territorial integrity holds sway for Donbas, but for Greenland, self-determination is the important issue. Medvedev: ‘Who gave the Secretary-General the right to interpret the UN Charter?’ He claims the UN Secretariat is panicking over Trump’s Board of Peace and scrambling to keep their jobs.

US President Trump signs an executive order declaring a national emergency over Cuba, authorizing new tariffs to be placed on any country that supplies oil to the island.

Mexico announced that they will supply oil as humanitarian aid. President Claudia Sheinbaum vows unwavering solidarity, confirming Mexico’s sovereign decision to provide oil aid amid Cuba’s decades-long economic siege by the US.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The day starts and the question is: Which war to look at first?

In Gaza, Israel has recovered the body of its one remaining Israeli captive, Ran Gvili. It’s all over the news. What’s not in the news is that more than 10,000 Palestinians remain unaccounted for and buried under tons of rubble.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The Chechen leader Kadyrov with his always sweet smile drops some truth. “I’m opposed to negotiations.” He says Russia must finish the job in Ukraine.

Lavrov cuts through the negotiation fog: Russia focuses on real proposals not ‘public games’. He clarifies that Russia is NOT aware of a so-called ‘general agreement’ over Ukraine’s security guarantees. The media and the peanut gallery is announcing agreements that do not exist, as if an announcement will make it exist. Moscow repeatedly stressed foreign troops in Ukraine out of the question.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Good to know how China will handle the stream of Eurocrats coming to beg for scraps. Xi Jinping educated Starmer, who ended up talking about differences. It seems that China will give the Brits a 30-day visa free entry. Uhm .. and then sit back and check who tries to come in? MI6 will be happy. China will be happy to test and see this. The Brits will sit with egg on their faces.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Front and center is Iran, and the river of threats and rhetoric from the US. It is notable that this time most of these threats come from the US, and not from Zionist-Israel. The threats are not only to Iran, but also to Iraq. The US is openly blackmailing Iraq, demanding that Nuri al-Maliki not be appointed as the country’s prime minister.  This nomination is supported by a broad coalition of parliamentary deputies, including the Shiite bloc. Maliki is considered close to Iran, and the US views this as strengthening Iranian influence in Iraq amid the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. It’s worth remembering that the US is still holding a portion of Iraq’s gold reserves and is in no hurry to return them to the Iraqi government. The fuss over Maliki is also part of the looming war of the US and Israel against Iran.

Secretary of State Marco (Narco) Rubio testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee today. About Venezuela, the penny dropped.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was supposed to leave his post. The US had no other choice due to the need to put an end to the influence of Russia and China in the republic, said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

We wanted to weaken Iranian, Russian or Chinese influence in this country. None of this would have been possible as long as Maduro remained in power,” he said at a hearing in the US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee.

According to Rubio, “this was one of the options available to the president after all other ways of removing this person from the political scene had been exhausted.” He was just a huge hindrance to us.

Also, the US allows the conduct of a “preventive military operation” against Iran and will build up forces in the Middle East, Rubio stated.

Trump is fanning all of these flames and constantly threatening with the US ‘Armada’ that will certainly take Iran down ‘like never seen before’.  That remains to be seen and Iran constantly affirm that they are ready and the US bases, ships and everything in the region will be attacked.  Oil and the flow of oil throughout the world is of course of great importance here and I have no doubt that Iran will block the flow.  The Houthis are with Iran and state that they will continue taking down any vessel in the Red Sea should Iran be attacked.

In this way,we can clearly see that the overarching objective is still Russia and China.   It is now the US and collective west (with the EU playing possum in China) against the world.   Am I the only one that consider the flow of Eurocrats to China as a feint and performance art?

Berletic holds to his views and I agree:   The US threatens Iran with wider war if it doesn’t agree to “nuclear deal” the US already used multiple times to prepare for and carry out unilateral strikes on Iran.  There is no US policy or plan for “peace” with Iran – only death and destruction with the ultimate goal of shrinking the multipolar world further.  This is a wake up call for those who insist the US is “retreating” to the Western Hemisphere rather than ramping up its global war on multipolarism.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The wildly successful Russian-Indian summit held at the end of last year is showing promise and real results.  India will produce Russian short-haul Sukhoi Superjet 100 — fully import substituted & sanctions-proof regional jets.

Yes, he’s amusing. His claims have, however, a good track record.
