The Russian city of Belgorod has come under the most massive shelling attack since the SMO started – American Himars reportedly. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. Energy facilities were damaged; on-duty maintenance and response teams have been dispatched.

The SMO will continue and Russia will hit back more severely each time.

The Pentagon or the US Dept of War sneaked in a new National Security Strategy. This reportedly went out by email first, and I don’t think the time of release is a coincidence. The new session this morning of the tripartite negotiations in Abu Dhabi has started. The Monroe Doctrine (or Donroe Doctrine as you prefer) will be alive ‘in our time’. Russia will remain a ‘persistent but manageable threat to NATO’s eastern members for the foreseeable future’ and NATO is much stronger than Russia, the ‘peace through strength’ doctrine will be used against China and there will be extensive ‘burden sharing’ i.e., others will pay for it. On Iran, I cannot even summarize as the language is too self-serving. There will be more to come on this low-grade document during the course of the day.

In the meantime, at the Abu Dhabi talks, there are demands for an ‘energy truce’ for Ukraine. Russia responded through Messieurs Iskander, Zircon and Kinzhal and hurled an estimated 23 missiles alone at the Ukrainian energy infrastructure in Kiev Oblast. This was a massive strike and other targets were eliminated as well. Media is appearing that Kiev citizens, the city, as well as Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk are doomed and the Kievans must flee. The SMO continues, no matter the now stale but still hopeful announcements from our more serious talking heads on Russia and the US as natural allies. There is a lack of understanding that the US does not want a reañ settlement and normal relations with Russia. The talks, reported by TASS have now concluded.

The bigger of the mid-tier countries are stepping back from the Trump Peace Agreement. LULA from Brazil said it harshly –

“President Trump is proposing the creation of a new UN, which he alone would own,” President Lula da Silva said, referring to the newly established Board of Peace.  Brazil has reached out to other nations “to see if it’s possible for us to come together and prevent multilateralism from being trampled on,” he added.

Europe in general is not very keen to join.  They feel sore of course as they have just been treated as abject vassals which they are.  Bear in mind despite the many articles that Russia joined, Russia did not. They offered 1 Billion Dollars from the funds that are sequestrated in the US, to go to the Palestinians directly, the rest to be used to repair war damage in the Donbas. One of the zionist television channels reported today that Hamas will not disarm and the zionists will keep on killing.

These wars will continue for the foreseeable future as they are profit centers.

Moscow will respond to the interception of Russian vessels by France, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyansky warned on the Soloviev Live talk show as he blasted the incident as an inadmissible provocation and “blatant lawlessness.”

“Naturally, we will not tolerate such hostile actions and there will be a response to these provocations, I am confident. For such a practice is totally inadmissible,” the Russian diplomat said.

Commenting on the incident, Polyansky noted that “all this falls in line with blatant broader lawlessness currently unfolding.” Russia absolutely will not tolerate such developments, he reiterated.

The Turkish Foreign Minister: Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated intelligence indicators suggest Israel — not the US — is preparing a potential strike against Iran.

Multiple international airlines suspend flights amid escalating regional instability.  Several major international carriers have announced sudden cancellations of flights to Israel and across the region, reflecting growing concerns over a possible U.S. – Israeli strike on Iran.  United Airlines and Air Canada have suspended their flights to Israel, while Switzerland’s Swiss International Air Lines cancelled all flights to Israel scheduled for tonight. Dutch carrier KLM also announced the cancellation of its next two night flights to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.  In parallel, Air France abruptly halted its night flights to the UAE, with British Airways following suit by cancelling its own nighttime services to the country.

Israeli Channel 12:  “We are expecting a preemptive Iranian attack.”

Putin’s talks with the Americans were constructive and extremely frank, – Ushakov.

▪️Russia will continue to consistently pursue the goals of the special military operation as long as a political-diplomatic settlement cannot be achieved.

▪️Putin, Witkoff, Kushner, and Grunbaum stated that without resolving the territorial issue, long-term settlement cannot be expected.

▪️It was agreed that on Friday (January 23) the first meeting of the trilateral working group on security issues with representatives from Russia, the USA, and Ukraine will take place in Abu Dhabi.

▪️Russia’s negotiating group on security issues has been formed and will depart for the UAE in the coming hours. It includes representatives from the Ministry of Defense leadership. The Russian delegation heading to Abu Dhabi received specific instructions from Putin.

▪️The heads of the bilateral economic group Dmitriev and Witkoff will meet in Abu Dhabi.

▪️Witkoff and Kushner shared their impressions of contacts made in Davos, including the meeting between Trump and Zelensky.

▪️The Russian side emphasized its readiness to allocate one billion dollars to the “Peace Council” for Gaza from previously frozen Russian assets.

▪️The remaining funds from the frozen reserves can be directed to the restoration of territories after a peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine is concluded.

The proof of a harsh meeting was in Ushakov’s final comments. Ushakov joked that four in the morning was “the perfect time” to summarize the results of the Russia-US consultations.   (Clearly questioning relevance).  “With that, I think I’ll conclude my report and wish everyone a good morning.”

Why is Russia continuing with a farcical process?  Any agreement with Ukraine or for that matter Europe and the US will be ratified or agreed to by the UNSC.  Currently, we cannot expect anything from that body because of vetoes.  If the US (and note, Russia is not working too diligently on this) come up with something that suits everyone and fulfills Russia’s hard requirements, they will avoid a veto at the UNSC where international law is situated.

China and Brazil (and many more) are beginning to push back on Trump’s “Board of Peace”.  In a call with Lula, Xi Jinping reaffirmed support for multilateralism and the UN’s central role, urging major powers to “stand on the right side of history.”

Why do I say that this peace board is created for Trump to be de facto ruler of the world, the whole planet?  The Chairman is self-appointed for life. Trump has created a document of relevance for himself, should he have to leave politics in the US.

The first action from the Board of Peace in the name of the first Chairman is capricious and childish:

Spain just turned down the invite:  PM Sanchez objects to absence of Palestinian Authority as a member and initiative being ‘outside framework of UN’.  ‘The future of Palestine as a whole must be decided by the Palestinians’.

Gaza is not at peace and the Zionists are enthusiastically bombing, killing and maiming along, across the region.  The general world opinion of the New Gaza Plan presented by Kushner, is:

This Davos, without using hyperbole, was a massive performative piece of Kabuki.  We won’t usually pay attention to that segment of elites but this time it will turn to sharpening the world’s break with Europe and the US.  There is an utter dislike of the Europeans, mad as hatters and not knowing where to turn, and the US, still up to its usual colonial conquests.

If you pay attention to the videos of Michael Hudson and Richard Wolff and to Jeffrey Sachs on the front page, you will have everything that you need to know.
