The view from Mar-A-Lago

Michael Hudson states that Trump is the most insecure president the US has ever had. He explains it as Trump being really threatened by everyone, and that is why we have to have this new cold war. Oil is a base building block for the rules-based-order and without full control of oil, there is no rules-based-order and the imperial has no power.

We are looking at some Trump statements over the past few days in order to categorize these:  Outright Lie, False Equivalence, Pretence to being Powerful, Personal Ego, Offensive Derision and Humiliation.

We are looking at a desperate empire trying to hold on by selling the imaginary.  It is a tremendous mistake to assume that everything Trump says can be correct.  Nevertheless, we have to remain mobilized as their ‘imaginary scenario’ will take a lot of lives.

Starting with an earlier Trump comment specifically about windmills and wind turbines because it illustrates a lie, a demented position (demented may be in terms of age related problems, or may be in terms of insanity):

President Donald Trump bragged about his opposition to wind turbines during a meeting with oil executives at the White House on Jan. 9, reiterating his long-stated dislike of “windmills.”  (Ego)

“In case you people don’t know I’m not much of a windmill person,” the president told the oil executives. “We have not approved one windmill since I’ve been in office and we’re going to keep it that way.”  (Ego)

So, he says China does not have wind turbines for power generation.  (Outright Lie and Demented), and I cannot believe that he does not know this.  What they have now, is stunning:  Airborne wind power system generates 385 kWh at 2,000 meters in maiden flight.

Greenland comments:

“Greenland basically, their defense is two dog sleds, did you know that?” – Trump  (Offensive derision and humiliation, A joke as well, as Greenland has a US base, followed by outright lies about Russia and China).

THEY’RE NOT STUDYING POLAR BEARS, THEY’RE STUDYING ON HOW TO COUNTER NATO – US Air Force Chief fearmongers over ‘increasing Chinese-Russian cooperation in the Arctic’.  (Every time the West is involved somewhere, it’s for the greater good they tell us.)

Oops, I do not have a category for BS.  Consider, why does the US want Greenland?

Iran comments

The United States is very seriously considering some form of response to the protests in Iran, including the possible use of force, President Trump said.  ✔️

‘We will HIT them at levels that they’ve NEVER been HIT BEFORE’ — Trump THREATENS Iran if it attacks US targets..’I have options that are SO STRONG’.  This is clearly bloviating and pretense to strength, knowing what we know about the recent 12-day war and the ‘obliteration of Iran’s nuclear’.

Trump calls Musk ‘to get Iran internet going’ as nation ‘jams Starlink’.  So far Elon did not manage to turn Starlink on again.  Forbes claims Iran using military-grade jamming to block Starlink satellite internet.

Ukraine Comments

I GOT RARE EARTHS BACK — Trump on Ukraine

“Sleepy Joe spent $350B dollars on Ukraine and got nothing for it; I got the value for it back, I got rare earths back…”

This is half a story and Ego.  Let’s take this from another perspective.  If Ukraine goes completely 404 (and we are waiting for Russia), there is no state that will inherit the agreements made by Trump at this time.  There is also the fact that this agreement was made with Zelenski, who is not a President and cannot speak for Ukraine.  This is Empty Bloviation, depending on his audience not knowing what they are talking about.

Venezuela

Earlier, the head of Exxon stated that Venezuela is unsuitable for investments, reminding that the US has already seized assets in Venezuela twice…  There is a further issue which is lost in the Trump shuffle.  Exxon insisted on full regime change.  Trump is not able to do that, without military feet on the ground.   Too cute indeed.

This one takes the cake:  Outright Lie because Trump cannot threaten Exxon, False Equivalence because he has forgotten that it was his sanctions that made the oil companies leave during his previous administration but Exxon has not forgotten, Pretence to being Powerful against Exxon,  Personal Ego, Offensive Derision and Humiliation.

And we end with this doozy:

Trump tells NYT that he ‘didn’t know’ about oil in Venezuela saying he conducted military operation for 2 reasons.  (Aaaw, I don’t even want to think who is at the end of this piece of dementia.)

This one is here so that you can see the smirky face of the White House Barbie right at the end.  Who really holds that nuclear suitcase?  It is scary.  And then people ask why Putin is quiet.  He has to think through the issue of the demented on any action.

And as I pushed the post button on this one, another one showed up – outright lie.

Diaz-Canel of Cuba confirms that only technical migration contacts are discussed as usual and blames U.S. policies for economic hardships.

These statements follow Trump’s assertion on Jan. 11,  aboard Air Force One:  “We’re talking to Cuba, and you’ll find out very soon.”

On Monday, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel clarified that his administration maintains contact with the U.S. government only to address technical migration matters and denied the existence of any other dialogue or negotiation with the administration of President Donald Trump.

These statements follow Trump’s assertion on Jan. 11, that contacts with Havana exist. Aboard Air Force One, Trump told reporters, “We’re talking to Cuba, and you’ll find out very soon.”

After refuting the U.S. leader’s claims, the Cuban president reiterated his rejection of the U.S. blockade and the Cuban Adjustment Act.
