‼️ The US Strikes Venezuela 1

These are reports from local sources as they come in.  Some confirmations, but others are unconfirmed.  This thread does not attempt to analyze, as it is too early.

Multiple reports of fighter jet activity over Caracas, Venezuela, with explosions pouring in now, just after 1 am Eastern. Smoke plumes are emitting from Fort Tiuna and La Carlota airbase. It is reported that 6 smoke columns are seen rising from the area at this time. Unverified as yet, but the speculation is, of course, that a US invasion or attempt at decapitation strike is underway. US CH-47 Chinook helicopters are reported to be flying near the location of the strikes. Air raid sirens are blaring and there is a blackout.

Reuters reports that southern regions of Caracas have been de-energized by airstrikes!

Airstrikes were reported against the La Guaira naval base in Vargas, northern Venezuela, the home of Venezuela’s Naval Academy.

Venezuelan Su-30 Flanker fighter jets have lifted off from Aragua state, Venezuela. All personnel of the Base Aérea Libertador are being called. Citizens of Maracay report the ignition of several aircraft (possibly the F-16s).  This is unconfirmed.

RT’s Venezuelan correspondent has just confirmed. Venezuelan local media has confirmed. Video is pouring in.

USAF airstrikes on Isla Margarita, Venezuela’s largest island and a tourist haven, also contains major Venezuelan military installations.

 

The US Air Force has deactivated ALL transponders; not a single flight can be seen on FlightRadar24.

A new wave of strikes now underway.

Initial reports of US Delta Force insertions in southern Caracas, the capital of Venezuela!

Explosions also reported at Higuerote Airport, East Caracas, Venezuela.

REUTERS CONFIRMS US SPECIAL FORCES ARE BOOTS ON THE GROUND IN CARACAS, VENEZUELA!

Initial reports of US Marine Corps landing operations on numerous Venezuelan islands in the Caribbean

The Venezuelan Defense Minister’s home and the port of Venezuela’s capital were targeted in strikes.

“Right now they are bombing Caracas. Alert to the whole world, they have attacked Venezuela.  They are bombing with missiles.  The OAS and the UN must meet immediately.” –President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro.

Venezuelan Armed Forces have begun to mobilize, tanks are on the streets near the Presidential Palace.

Fox News is claiming the unconfirmed US Invasion of Venezuela is for national security concerns regarding Hezbollah and Iran.

It is now fog of war with many reports unconfirmable.

Venezuelan state media have confirmed that the country is under attack, a state of “permanent mobilization” has been declared!  Venezuelan President Maduro has declared a state of emergency, he is calling on people to mobilize to “defeat imperialist aggression.”

A random comment:  “Oh fuck they’re invading Venezuela and I’m sick, fuck you Trump!”

And then there is the paperwork:  Formal statements from Venezuela – The Nicolás Maduro regime in Venezuela issued, on January 3, 2026, an official statement declaring that the country was targeted by U.S. military attacks against civilian and military installations located in the states of Caracas, Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, and called on all Latin American governments to rise against the U.S.: “Independence or nothing. Fatherland, socialism or death. We will prevail!”

Current Time Eastern is now 2:50 am, and for the last half an hour, I have not seen strikes, except for  a US Army AH-64 Apache ground attack helicopter strafing Fort Tiuna, Caracas.

It is unbelievable, the love shown for Venezuela.  It feels as if the whole world is up now, reporting from local reports.  It is the time when old reports become new, as someone has just seen it, and confusion reigns.  The psywars and disinfo campaigns are also beginning.

Yesterday, a high-ranking Chinese delegation and Special Envoy arrived in Venezuela.  President Maduro met with Qiu Xiaoqi, special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, in Caracas about 12 hours before the US attacks.  It’s still unclear whether the high-ranking Chinese delegation is still in Caracas…

It looks like the first strike barrage is over.  Gonna get some sleep.

⭕ President Donald Trump has accused Venezuela of “stealing Venezuela’s oil,” referring implicitly to the vacuum created after US oil companies were forced to halt operations.

However, US oil companies did not leave Venezuela because the oil sector collapsed on its own or Venezuela forced them to leave. They withdrew because US sanctions made continued operation legally impossible, despite Venezuela’s vast reserves. The sanctions, not market forces, drove the exit — and Washington retains the power to reverse or extend that outcome at will.

Venezuela holds the largest proven oil reserves in the world. The problem was sanctions-induced paralysis:
Oil could not be sold legally to US markets; Revenues were frozen; and Equipment, spare parts, and technology imports were blocked, crippling all 6 referineries and impoverishing Venezuela.
⭕ The United States is violating international law by waging war against Venezuela, a sovereign state, in breach of the United NationsCharter.
Such action contravenes Article 2(4), which prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, and Article 2(3), which obliges states to settle disputes by peaceful means.

Maduro and his wife were kidnapped.  Delcy Rodriques is demanding proof of life.  The US Attorney General says Maduro and his wife are being charged in the Southern District of New York.  Delcy is reported in Russia at the moment.

This is clearly a bunch of made-up nonsense bs charges.  Trump is strutting around like a demented rooster.

The kidnapping of Maduro comes but a few days after Putin’s residence was attacked with drones.  It is as heinous as the killing of General Suleimani.  No leader will feel secure.  But the US should feel the least safe of anyone. The hatred is as vivid as the hatred for Netanyahu.

We are extremely concerned by reports that the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro and his spouse were forcibly taken out of the country during today’s aggressive actions by the United States. (https://t.me/MFARussia/27937)

We demand immediate clarification of these reports.

If such actions did in fact take place, they represent an unacceptable violation of the sovereignty of an independent state, the respect for which is a fundamental principle of international law.

We still do not know where the Chinese Special Envoy is.   China has not issued a formal statement yet but the press is full of the story so far.
