Michael Hudson: The 28-Point reality check: What Russia Would Demand If narratives didn’t rule
Lead-in from Michael
This is not a peace proposal at all. It is a bold attempt to shape the terms in which the public views the entire Ukraine coup d’etat in the Maidan in February 2014 putting neo-Nazis in power to wage an ethnic war of extermination against Russian-speaking civilians.
The proposed “Agreement” drawn up first by the Americans and then by the pro-Nazi Ukrainians and NATO public relations strategists. Its proposed Articles of Agreement are not part of a process designed to negotiate peace or even a cease-fire.
They are crafted by propagandists to “win the hearts and minds of the people” in support of the Maidan coup that overthrew Ukraine’s elected president in support of the neo-Nazi takeover aimed at treating the Russian-speaking population as subhumans to be destroyed, and as seeking to bring down Russia’s government in economic collapse.
In other words, the aim of all these versions that have been leaked to the press is to reverse the way in which World War II ended.
That is a bold and outrageous trick. It has been carefully thought out by the neocons, just as they have planted many false flags, such as at Bakhmut.
The “peace proposals” are not intended to bring peace. They are a propaganda effort to create a false narrative of what has happened.
This staged charade of pretending to negotiate peace is really a US/NATO propaganda effort to shape a narrative in peoples’ minds.
And to do so in a false way – as anti-Russian propaganda, protecting NATO’s disastrous backing of the Maidan coup and the attack on civilian Russian-speakers – and its aim of backing regime change in Russia in an attempt to destroy its economy.
In a word, the aim of the group that has propagandized these proposals is OBFUSCATION. It is anti-Russian propaganda.
As Foreign Minister Lavrov said yesterday at a French news conference, Europe’s NATO “elites opted for war and have staked their entire political careers on the slogan of inflicting what they call a strategic defeat on Russia.” That has failed.
So they are trying to “win the peace.” And that is how the history books will describe the war – as a morality plan between good and evil, democracy vs Nazism.
