Venezuela practises regional Global Governance with style and elegance
Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro wrote an official letter to US president Trump on September 6, 2025, in which he refuted the US administration’s accusations against Venezuela and invited his American counterpart to constructive dialogue and mutual cooperation.
The letter went unanswered and was partially leaked in the U.S. press, so the Venezuelan government published it in its entirety.
Vice president Delcy Rodríguez wrote on her Telegram channel:
President @NicolasMaduroMoros announced on Friday, September 5, the sending of a letter to President Donald Trump, presenting the irrefutable truth of Venezuela and demonstrating — with maps and scientific data endorsed by international organizations — that our homeland is a territory free of any illicit activity.
The letter was delivered on September 6 to a South American intermediary to ensure it reached its intended recipient. Since the letter has been partially leaked in the U.S. press, the Venezuelan government assumes responsibility for publishing it in full.
It reflects the irrefutable truth of Venezuela: we are a territory free of illicit activities, peaceful and secure.
The military threat against Venezuela, the Caribbean, and South America must end, and the CELAC Peace Zone declaration must be respected.
Venezuela, in perfect unity among its people, military, and police forces, will continue to defend its right to sovereignty, to peace, and to the sacred legacy of our Liberator Simón Bolívar.

The tone is not being repeated in the Big Babylon. Trump said today in an interview:
No drugs are coming in anymore. You won’t find a fishing boat, a cruise liner — nothing in the water in Venezuela’
If this is true, this man has literally killed an industry. That is what we do in the Caribbean. We fish and catch seafood, we cruise, we hang around on boats and all kinds of watercraft, people dive, they snorkel, and swim. We hang around on the beach in the sand and drink rum and margaritas, kick a ball around, play games, rest and relax, and support local vendors for a bite to eat and some coconut water to drink. Then, we watch the sunset. That is the idea because the waters are beautiful. Again, we see the stark difference between civilization and barbarism.
Barbarism did provide an answer to Maduro’s fine letter. The US deployed a fourth destroyer to the Caribbean amid Venezuela tensions. The USS Stockdale (DDG-106) — an Aegis-equipped Arleigh Burke-class warship — joins three other destroyers in the region under Southern Command.
