1,200 missiles targeted at Venezuela – Maduro
The U.S. Navy has assembled a large strike package off the coast of Venezuela, including three guided-missile destroyers, one guided-missile cruiser, and one attack submarine, capable of launching at least 268 ‘Tomahawk’ cruise missiles, as well as various amphibious assault ships capable of landing around 4,000 U.S. Marines.
Also today, an emergency Extraordinary Meeting of CELAC Foreign Ministers (including Mexico) called in response to the aggressive actions of US imperialism against Venezuela.

1,200 missiles targeted at Venezuela – Maduro
๐ฃVenezuela is facing maximum pressure, President Nicolas Maduro has declared.
Key statements from the Venezuelan Presidentโs press conference:
๐ Eight warships, 1,200 missiles, and a nuclear submarine are aimed at Venezuela
๐ This represents the greatest threat to Latin America in its entire history
๐ Maximum readiness is required to defend peace
๐ The โBolivarian Revolutionโ (Venezuela) has overcome sanctions, more than a thousand different restrictions, and a blockade
๐ Venezuelaโs economic system is stable, resilient, developing, and diversified
๐ Today, a new global vision of development is taking shapeโone that will not allow any form of colonialism or exceptionalism, neither in Latin America nor in the world
๐ Venezuela is open to the world. โI invite you to learn about the experience of our new and direct democracyโour democracy,โ Maduro emphasized
๐ธ My sense of things at present:
๐น The US naval flotilla ostensibly bound for Venezuela is a token force able only to project fleeting tactical dominance, with negligible strategic consequence.
๐น For Israel vs. Iran, it’s now or never. Iran waxes stronger as Israel wanes.

๐ค “Prime Collateral”
I think “stealing” Venezuela’s oil in the sense of extracting it is almost certainly not an American objective at this point in time. They just want to control it financially; list it as an asset on their balance sheet; leverage it as “prime collateral”. https://t.co/67H1ymhrmz

Venezuela: Guyana is โtrying to create a war frontโ

Amid escalating tensions over the disputed Guayana Esequiba region, Venezuela has denied Guyanaโs claims that it attacked a vessel transporting election materials over the weekend. Caracas accuses Georgetown of fabricating the incident to justify foreign intervention and โprovoke regional conflict.โ
This follows months of mounting friction after Venezuelaโs 2023 referendum declared Esequiba as Venezuelan territory, rejecting ExxonMobilโs activities in the oil-rich area. Guyana, backed by U.S. and UK diplomatic cover and deepening military ties with Brazil, has warned of โsevere consequencesโ for any violation of its borders.
