Abraham Accords, Abraham Shield, Abraham Alliance: a diabolical trinity

The Plot thickens in the Middle East /  West Asia

The Abraham Accords are a set of agreements that were drawn up during the previous Trump administration to establish diplomatic normalization between Israel and several Arab states.   The main aim is not written, but this is a recognition of Israel as a state.  At this time (and it is fluctuating now with the open genocide and Israel refusing to abide by any of the UN Security Council resolutions) thirty (30) countries do not recognize Israel as a state.  During the genocide, countries regularly broke diplomatic relationships, even tiny Belize.  Here is an up to date map, but be aware this is a moving target and recognitions or removal of recognitions happen regularly:  https://www.visualcapitalist.com/recognition-of-israel-map/

This is what it looks like, but again, it is a moving target.  These states do not  recognize Israel:

15 members of the Arab League (Algeria, Comoros, Djibouti, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen);

10 non-Arab members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Niger, and Pakistan); and Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela.

Cuba, Mali, Belize and Bolivia broke off relations in the process.

Following the Abraham Accords, which were signed in September 2020 between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, the Palestinian National Authority condemned any Arab agreement with Israel as dishonourable, describing them as a betrayal to the Palestinian cause and a blow to their quest for an independent Palestinian state.

It gets more complex as Israel accepts or rejects certain passports, and other countries may accept or reject Israeli passports.

With the great fanfare around the Abraham Accords, it is a poor show to have only the original two states and a subsequent two more signed up, with one not having ratified.  Sudan and Morocco signed up, although Sudan did not ratify. These Abraham Accords do not look like a resounding success but rather a miserable failure.  If one understands the quid pro quo offered for Sudan and Morocco, it seems like a pay for play, as nobody wants to join these accords.  For Morocco, the U.S. recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. For Sudan, it included removal from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism and access to international financial support.

That is then a nutshell overview of the Abraham Accords, advertised to “recognize the importance of maintaining and strengthening peace in the Middle East and around the world based on mutual understanding and coexistence, as well as respect for human dignity and freedom, including religious freedom.”

In July 2025, it was reported that the second Trump administration was initiating the expansion of the accords to include Syria, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia.  Syria is a shoo-in, Lebanon is a question mark, and Saudi Arabia has stood steadfast in that they first want to see a Palestinian State.

The next phase of the Abraham accords is called the Abraham Shield, and here it gets exceedingly ugly. As Israel acts with total impunity, I expect this to be tried in the form of a fait accompli.  It was fascinating that Mr.Lavrov noted yesterday in his presser at ASEAN :

Today, I was surprised to read reports about a project to establish an Emirate of Hebron. This initiative is being framed as the first step towards promoting the concept of the “United Palestinian Emirates” on Palestinian territories. While such ideas may currently seem like fiction, their increasing appearance in public discourse reflects emerging risks and growing tensions surrounding the prospects for establishing a Palestinian state, as envisaged by the decisions of the UN General Assembly and Security Council. This represents a serious challenge for the international community.”

Mr Lavrov seems to indicate that this, I assume the whole concept of the Abraham Shield, will be challenged one way or the other.  The idea of slipping it in as a fait accompli may not be so easy.

The Abraham Shield is a description of brutality.  The Abraham Shield is certainly not a peace plan, but rather a sick song. I’m reminded of the title of an old Roberta Flack song – Killing them softly, with your song! It is a totalitarian war blueprint cloaked in the PR language of mutual stability and prosperity.

Suddenly, we have the Abraham Alliance as well. Hey Ho! We have a trinity!

Anis Raiss, a columnist for the Cradle reports:

Days after the 12-Day Israel–Iran war, drivers in Tel Aviv were greeted by a colossal digital billboard lined with familiar faces: Persian Gulf royals in pristine robes, Arab presidents in pressed suits, all grouped under a bold banner – The Abraham Alliance.

There was no clarification of who had formally signed on, no footnote about “ongoing consultations.” The image made no distinction. The message was clear: Whether officially declared or discreetly aligned or open to coercion, these governments are considered to be already enlisted in the occupation state’s regional vision.

For years, Arab governments have played both sides – issuing statements of solidarity with Palestine, while coordinating airspace, intelligence, and investments with Tel Aviv. Saudi Arabia repeatedly claims it will not normalize without movement on Palestinian statehood, even as Israeli jets crisscross its skies and business delegations are quietly exchanged.

So did the billboard reveal the truth? Or, simply confirm what has long been denied?

The Abraham Shield document reads like a 1984 redux with a modern technocratic bent.

I will quote only a few paragraphs here, but I encourage you to read the whole document with the help of a libation of your choice.  It defies description. But first, the PR:

In the coming years, the State of Israel will rebuild itself as a Zionist, Jewish, democratic, safe, stable, and prosperous home in the land of Israel.

[This is the land that refuses to stay within its borders so what this considers as the ‘land of Israel, remains in the hands of the land that God Gave to Them.  Nowadays, the definition includes Syria, Lebanon, Occupied Palestinian Territories and is even used now on the little Island of Cyprus, where the zionazis gathered to flee the missiles of Iran].

It will do so based on a measured and intelligent analysis of the regional map, its risks and opportunities while combining military, political, and economic power. The State of Israel will leverage its strength and entrepreneurial innovation to build a ‘new regional order’: shaping a safe and prosperous national and regional future for its citizens.  It must do so – for the sake of future generations, and it can.

Overview:

The Abraham Shield Plan of the Coalition for Regional Security is a new Israeli political-security initiative that paves the way for the State of Israel to emerge from wars of attrition to a reality of security, stability, and prosperity – based on the current regional opportunity.

The attacks of October 7 were part of a larger Iranian plan. They were intended, among other things, to sabotage the process of normalization between Israel and Saudi Arabia and prevent the process of recognition of the State of Israel by moderate Arab states, and thereby prevent the strengthening of the moderate regional coalition that threatens Iran.

Since October 7, the State of Israel has been dealing with seven different fronts that form the Iranian ‘ring of fire’ that seeks to destroy it. The complex system of Iran’s ‘proxies’ was built by Iran with great sophistication over many years and with tremendous resources, with the aim of surrounding the State of Israel and strangling it.

[It is all Iran’s fault]

This is why Iran turned Gaza into “Hamastan”, southern Lebanon into “Hezbollahstan”, built militias in Iraq and Syria, and strengthened the Houthis in Yemen. It’s why Iran is trying to infiltrate Jordan, the West Bank, and Egypt. Iran seeks to rebuild its ring of fire and continue the wars of attrition against Israel, while at the same time implementing its nuclear program – which it believes will ultimately lead to the collapse of the State of Israel.

In the past year, the State of Israel has fought the most just war since its founding. Like a phoenix, the State of Israel has managed to rise from the dust, demonstrating unprecedented military power that has brought about monumental changes in the Middle East.

Its historic military achievements have proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, to both its enemies and regional partners that the State of Israel is a powerful and deterrent regional player – one that will not hesitate to use its great power to pursue its enemies. However, Israel will not succeed in defeating Iran and preventing the restoration of its proxies on its own or through military force alone.

[Killing non-combatants in an orgy of a genocide does not make them a great power, as Iran showed them.]

Now, the historic mission of the State of Israel is to translate its tremendous military achievements into a political turning point. One that will break the Iranian stranglehold, leverage the current regional opportunity, and create a new regional order in the Middle East.

Paragraph 1

[technocratic society, no money, no freedom, no Palestinians, harsh colonial racism]

01

Closing the front in Gaza, returning all hostages, establishing a technocratic transitional government in Gaza, and a regionally led de-Hamasification.

  • The State of Israel will declare victory in Gaza and the defeat of Hamas’ military force.
  • Israel will promote a comprehensive ceasefire and commit to the withdrawal of IDF forces from Gaza in exchange for the return of all hostages, living and dead.
  • Israel will reach a bilateral understanding with the U.S. on freedom of action for security operations and targeted raids in the future to prevent Hamas’s resurgence and to dismantle terrorist infrastructures.
  • Israel will work with its regional and international partners to establish a technocratic transitional government in Gaza, with regional backing that will provide all civilian services to the Palestinians during the transition period.
  • Arab police forces will operate in Gaza to establish law and order during the transition period.
  • The reconstruction package for Gaza will be led and financed by the West and the moderate Arab states, led by the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
  • The moderate Arab states will lead a process of ‘de-Hamasification’ in Gaza – a deep de-radicalization of society and education (as they successfully implemented in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia).
  • Cash in the Gaza Strip will be abolished (“ZeroCash”) and an advanced mechanism of monetary supervision will be implemented.

Paragraph 3

[Let’s take Syria]

03

Following the fall of the Assad regime: Harnessing regional forces to stabilize Syria and turn it into a ‘buffer’ against the Iranian axis

  • Israel will declare that in the immediate term it will continue to enforce the demilitarization of the Syrian Golan Heights and temporarily hold the buffer zone until a new, responsible, and stable government is established that will respect the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement, or until significant international forces are deployed to the area.
  • Israel will continue operational activity to prevent strategic armament in Syria and to curb arms smuggling to Lebanon, Jordan, and the West Bank, while maintaining full readiness to respond to any development and strengthening the deployment of defense forces along the border.
  • Israel will enlist the U.S. administration and its regional partners to prevent Iran from re-establishing itself in Syria, to deepen the ‘buffer’ between Syria and the Iranian axis, and to support a new, responsible, and stable Syrian government that may lead to a new era in relations between the countries in the future.
  • In light of Turkey’s centrality in shaping the future order in Syria, the State of Israel will establish a communication channel with Turkey to promote shared interests in regional stability.

Paragraph 4

[The Abraham Alliance will be a special trade zone and will manage everything]

04

Deepening the ‘Moderate Regional Coalition’: Returning to a fast-track normalization with Saudi Arabia and expanding the ‘Abraham Accords’

  • Israel will first establish a normalization arrangement with Saudi Arabia. The arrangement will promote Israel’s continued integration throughout the moderate Arab world.
  • Israel will initiate the establishment of the ‘Abraham Alliance’ – a moderate regional coalition that will regulate security, intelligence, and political cooperation in the Middle East between Israel, Egypt, Jordan, the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Sudan, and other moderate countries, with the backing of the U.S. and the West.
  • Israel will work within the framework of the ‘Abraham Alliance’ to strengthen the stability of Egypt and Jordan and to weaken regional terrorist organizations, their financing, and armament methods.
  • Israel will work to define the ‘Abraham Alliance’ region as a special trade zone in the Middle East and as a global economic hub. Agreements will be signed for regional economic cooperation in the fields of research, technology, science, environment, tourism, trade, agriculture, and water while building mega-projects of infrastructure, railways, and cross-border roads between the Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea that will open up major new markets to the State of Israel.

Please read this abomination so that you can understand the diabolical plan. Israel wants to own it all. French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu called this phenomenon symbolic violence – the imposition of a worldview so total that it masquerades as truth. That is the logic of The Abraham Shield. Arab governments chant liberation while facilitating dispossession – openly branding the betrayal as pragmatism.

This humanity that dream up these plans is bent insane.  The image that comes to my mind is the one of the jail in El Salvador, only with women and children added.

Looks like more horrors dreamed up by “those” people. I had never heard of the “Shield” before. The “accords” for sure, but not the “shield.” I was surprised and happy to see you mention Roberta Flack. I had the pleasure more than once of meeting and talking to her, as… Read more »

The term “Shields” is a rallying war cry, to circle wagons against a particular foe. Shields are needed against the most potent historical Arrows. Iran is mentioned 21 times, including the leading sentence of paragraph 1.  Millennia ago, the Persian way of war was most renowned for massed volleys of… Read more »

I am going to refrain from comments for a while as I have commented perhaps too much on things like inflation causes, unions and the creation of money. In addition, I have a lot to “digest” with all the information here, geo-economically and also geo-culturally. Thank you so much for… Read more »

I don’t agree, Don, that you have… “commented perhaps too much”. As a real-world observer, you add an immensely valuable new dimension and insight to the discussion on all of these matters. In fact, the idiotic way in which the West allow “creation of money”* by a monopolistic private banking… Read more »
