Statement by Iran FM Seyed Abbas Araghchi after discussions with the foreign ministers of three European countries and EU’s foreign policy chief:

Today, we met and discussed with the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Germany, and the High Representative of the European Union in Geneva.

1. In this meeting, the serious concern of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the inaction of the three countries in condemning the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime was expressed, and it was emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue to exercise its legitimate right to self-defense against this regime with the aim of stopping the aggression and preventing its recurrence in a serious and decisive manner.

2. It was also emphasized that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Therefore, an attack on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities is considered a major crime and a severe violation of peremptory norms and international law. In this context, serious concern and criticism were expressed regarding the failure of the three countries and the European Union to condemn these attacks.

3. If the aggression stops and the aggressor is held accountable for its committed crimes, Iran is ready to consider diplomacy. In this regard, I clearly and transparently stated that Iran’s defensive capabilities are non-negotiable.

4. We welcome and support the continuation of dialogue with the three European countries and the European Union, and we express our readiness for another meeting in the near future.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, per NBC news:

‘We have reached the conclusion that American ‘diplomacy’ was nothing more than a cover for Israel’s evil scheme.

If the United States wants to even hope of resuming diplomacy with Iran, it must first order Israel to cease its attacks.’
