When asked to comment on Israel ‘s attack on Iranian state TV, which has been condemned by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and described as a “war crime” by Iran , Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday that China is deeply concerned about the situation, adding that China once again calls on all parties to immediately take measures to cool down the tensions as soon as possible and prevent the region from falling into greater turmoil. Guo noted that a cease-fire and an end to the war are of paramount urgency, and only dialogue and consultation can bring lasting peace. China is willing to maintain close communication with all parties and play a role in easing the tensions, he said.

China is probably the only State in a position right now, who could shut this all down if they wanted to.  Although I had bitter responses when I critiqued China for holding full economic relations with Israel, it is my view that China is not in a clear manner carrying out its State responsibilities vis a vis Gaza at least.  States have declared responsibilities under the Genocide Convention.  This does not make me anti-China, it makes me call it as it is.

Although we see reports (no evidence as yet) of China having sent at least three military materiel transport airplanes to Iran.  The reports state that these flights turn off their transponders close to the Iranian borders.
