Pilgrims are under threat

Saudi Arabia is fully involved in the effort to silence all dissent against Israel’s genocide. Controlling this narrative is becoming very serious, as the free world is not accepting that we have a genocide that aims to delete the Palestinian presence (or any deletion of any group of people via violence), in our world. This should be joyful news, and not the reason for the crackdowns against jounalists, writers, dissidents, activists and now pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia has announced that they will be allowing the sale of alcohol in a large social change generally described as a branding change to support the industry of hosting mega sporting events. A religious leader and television personality, (Iranian), speaking against this was recently arrested. “There’s no longer any need to go to Antalya for casinos, centers of debauchery, and obscene concerts—you can now come to Mecca and Medina instead.” GlobalSouth.co stands neutral and disinterested in terms of religious decisions and mention this to indicate the size of the grand social change underway. Saudi Arabia intends to be the regional leader and are actively positioning to cement their chosen status.

The sacred pilgrimage of Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam is imminent, expected to take place between 4th June to the 9th June 2025 in the Gregorian Calendar, depending on the sighting of the moon. Given the trajectory it may be that we see a level of terrorism during the pilgrimage. As the issue of responsbility of countries during a genocide is growing, Saudi Arabia is clearly not fulfilling their legal obligations. Currently Iran is working through a Committee for the Protection of Pilgrims’ Rights.”

Saudi authorities are now critically monitoring pilgrims in Jeddah, Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, and Taif. This heightened surveillance follows increased American influence, the establishment of new monitoring offices, and the growing sway of Jewish lobby groups even within the holy shrines. As a result, AI-based monitoring systems and extensive human data collection efforts have doubled compared to recent months, creating a more restrictive and controlled environment.

In this context, pilgrims who are active in raising awareness or voicing support for Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria may face serious risks. The authorities are particularly wary of any activism that challenges the official narrative or could provoke political sensitivities. It is therefore strongly advised that pilgrims exercise extreme caution: avoid interacting with pro-resistance or politically sensitive content on mobile devices, limit online activism, and refrain from sharing or engaging with such content publicly. Such precautions are necessary to prevent detection and possible punitive measures by the dacronian regime, which is known for its harsh repression of dissent and works as israeli proxy.

Despite these constraints, it remains essential that expressions of solidarity with the oppressed continue. However, these activities must be carefully organized and conducted legally, with proper coordination and prior notification submitted to the relevant officials of pilgrims’ home countries. Independent or spontaneous gatherings without official approval risk immediate crackdown, arrest, or expulsion, undermining the cause and endangering participants. Moreover, such uncoordinated actions create difficulties for home countries to monitor, understand, and support affected individuals, complicating diplomatic and consular responses.
