Dmitry Medvedev

From his Telegram Channel

Trump has roughly bent the global trading system over the table by imposing duties on nearly the entire world. The consequences will be global. Counter-tariffs will be imposed on goods from the United States. Old supply chains will be broken, but new ones will form.

And what about us?

Russia barely does any business with America anyway, or with the EU, for that matter: nearly all trade has been sanctioned. But we are still developing, and at a decent pace: for the first quarter of 2025, growth stands at about 3%. So, no need for knee-jerk reactions. According to Lao Tzu’s immortal advice, we should take a seat on the shore and wait for the enemy’s corpse to float by. In this case, the decaying corpse of the EU economy.

One moment, Mr Medvedev.  What are you doing about genocide?  I hear your words, but morally and realistically, you and your government are not standing up to what is the most gruesome killing field in our world today.  We know why you started the Ukraine SMO, and we know you are not attacking civilians.  For that, we laud you.  But get a damn life and think about the Palestinians already, would you!  You broke the blockade on Russia.  The Gaza blockade may be an easy walk in the park for you to break.  It is good news about the Russian embassy in the Sahel, and you mention a sweet growth statistic.   But can we just focus on the current killing fields?  You have an international law requirement, you know.  Or has that become selective for you and your country, which we support?  Let not the Palestinians further float by like the EU decaying corpse.

Perhaps that much of the world seems to buy the Western narratives on Banderastan vs Russia complicates things?
