Listen especially to the last ten minutes of Nelson Wong’s (Chinese expert) explanation re the pressure on Chinese banks, but the entire dialogue is important. It is a Chinese viewpoint rarely heard in the West, and Nelson Wang’s English is excellent. The entire conflict has nothing to do with democracy vs/ autocracy nor is it burdened with ideology of any kind.

An excellent over view of Chinese culture. Yes we in West are mostly clueless due to Western academics writing from their own subjective position re China.
