Free Thought

We often talk about “Free Speech”, but that is actually a nonsensical discussion. You can be for it or against it, but never stop it. The basis is Free Thought and our thoughts are as free as a bird. You can poison a garden, but eventually weeds will always grow. Nature is many times stronger than an unnatural man.

If someone is convinced that the world will end in ten years, you will not get rid of that thought. Not even by force. You can silence that person, but the thought remains and eventually that thought will always be expressed. If you don’t want someone to say “something wrong”, then banning makes no sense when it comes to wanting to “fix” something structurally.

You will be able to try to influence the belief, but without coercion because otherwise there is no point. That person will have to let go and change their own beliefs. Perhaps that will succeed, but more often it will prove impossible. This is totally out of our control. What remains is to make the audience aware enough not to go along with beliefs that are demonstrably false.

Here it comes down to trust, because you can’t force or impose anything on those listeners that you think is right. Why do people go to such lengths to convince others of their own beliefs anyway? You know it doesn’t work, because it doesn’t work for you either. And yet they do it, against their better judgment. Most people think they are making an impression.

How many times have you shrugged your shoulders and thought “talk all you want, but I still think very differently”? How many times have you noticed that others later did something different from what you said and indicated? Politicians who think they can silence the people are actually rather backward creatures. That will never work, because people keep talking even though their tongues are torn out.

It is so terribly stupid to try to curb free speech, to censor and to impose a narrative. After all, it always backfires. Only very stupid people don’t realize that. Wise people know that free speech, like free thought, cannot be stopped. Wise people trust that truth will always prevail.

Unfortunately, there are many stupid people at the controls. Unfortunately, there are many stupid people who let other stupid people be at the controls. Humanity has not yet become very wise. People still often make the same mistakes in their lives. If something didn’t work once, they think it will probably work a second time. Artificial Intelligence will quickly figure out this kind of stupidity.

But are stupid people allowed to have stupid opinions? Of course they are allowed to. All those politicians who try to keep the people stupid and in control are allowed to justify that for themselves and those around them. If someone tells you to jump in the ditch, will you do it? It may be said and you are responsible for your own actions. If you follow stupid opinions, what does that say about you?

See already how much a discussion about “Free Speech” is a non-discussion. There is only free speech. If we go along with the discussion, then you are in fact giving power to others. Are we afraid of losing something we can never lose? Do we experience fear when we tend to defend our free speech? What does this do to the collective and to the collective consciousness?

Shall we just say what is right and give a shit what others think? Can we then allow others to express their opinions even if we don’t like them? Will we trust others when they make their own choice of whom to believe, even if it turns out they don’t believe us? Do we see that we are totally out of control of this process and never will be in control of it?
