Pepe Escobar puts Syria in a nutshell in this interview with Judge Napolitano

There are a few issues.

This interview is from yesterday.  Since then, Pepe posted the following vis-a-vis the time that al-Assad described in his short explanatory briefing.  This timing became controversial.

ASSAD DID NOT RUN AWAY

Finally, key details are now firmly established.

Assad did leave Damascus in the first hours of Sunday, December 8 in a Syrian Il-76, en route to Hmeimim.

The transponder deliberately indicated that the plane crashed near Homs. It did not. The plane was later identified in Hmeimim via satellite images.

Hours later on Sunday, a Russian plane took him to Moscow.

That means that Assad did wait until the last minute to leave Damascus – as the airport was already partially encircled by the Salafi-jihadis.

That was confirmed by his Prime Minister, who talked to him late night on Saturday, December 7.

Another issue, what Pepe says here about Russia and Iran, fits what I heard this morning at the UNSC. Here is the comment that I posted at the Daily:

What is interesting though is Mr Nebenzia. It seems as if Russia is currently supporting a rebuilding process and the efforts being implemented now. They call for funding.

Very good interview from Pepe!
