A Ukraine peace trial balloon

This may be the WSJ putting facts together as they would like, but there is enough commenting from the Trump team to consider this as the floating of a trial Ukraine peace balloon from the new forming US administration.   As such, it belongs to my series on the Peace Train much earlier this year.

Despite the press, there is no Trump transition team formally appointed at the time of writing.  We do not know who the formal transition team is and can only deal with comments from his so-far informal grouping of which Elon Musk makes wild statements and the Vice President Elect makes statements that are devoid of reality. Nevertheless taken on the face of it, let us accept there is this a trial balloon.  In the meantime we are waiting for Trump to solve the Ukraine war within 24 hours of being elected president.  The trial peace balloon is another 24-hour deal.

To open the discussion, I want to draw attention to two of Putin’s statements in his recent address to the Valdai Club:

-“The West’s desire to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia demonstrates the extreme adventurism of some politicians; such a belief in their own exceptionalism could result in a global tragedy.”

-“No one guarantees that the West will not use nuclear weapons.”

Pepe Escobar in his Trumpquake article referred to Hanging Ukraine on Europe’s neck. Proxies will get a good workout and much work and the new administration will wash its hands off everything, as they want to appear oh so holy because they represented themselves as oh so holy and it worked.  Trump and whoever his teams will be, has a massive mandate.  There is however a problem with the new administration in formation.  Nobody there knows anything historically. They call the Trump win a people’s revolution but are already avoiding their responsibility.

Empire is systemic and with this, they present old sour wine in new wineskins.  Reality is going to hit very hard.

In the transition administration of Trump, a new scenario for the end of the conflict in Ukraine is being discussed, WSJ reports, citing sources.

– Trump’s team: “US won’t send soldiers to ‘uphold peace in Ukraine’.  “We can do training and other support but the barrel of the gun is going to be European,” a member of Trump’s team said.  “We are not sending American men and women to uphold peace in Ukraine.  And we are not paying for it.

And the kicker:

Get the Poles, Germans, British and French to do it.”

Here it goes again.  ProxiesR’Us; let’s use ’em as proxies and kick ’em to the curb when their value to us dissipates.  Let’s not accept responsibility for the systemic nature of the administration over the years.  We see this kind of thinking with the Zionists as well.  There is no context.  There is no yesterday and tomorrow if we get in trouble, we have those nukes.  It has never been true that what stares us in the face at this early time in a new forming administration, those that forget history’s lessons will only repeat them.   This is not a good start.  This will cause more war and longer war and perpetual war.  I hope we see a quick peace deal but I don’t hold my breath and after this trail balloon, I know there is nothing in it.

The main points of the plan:

◦ Freeze the current front line and declare a demilitarized zone along its length. Who will ensure its security is unknown;
◦ One of the newspaper’s interlocutors ruled out the involvement of US troops or contingents from the UN and other US-funded organizations;
◦ Ukraine is abandoning plans to join NATO for at least another 20 years;
◦ In exchange, the US will continue to supply Ukraine with weapons;
◦ A member of Trump’s team anonymously suggested asking the Poles, Germans, British, and French to do peacekeeping in Ukraine.

Yeah sure, this will immediately and effectively create lasting peace.  Uh, will it?  What of ‘denazification’ and ‘demilitarization’ and ‘current conditions on the ground’ do the newly forming ‘people’s revolution’ administration not understand?  Do they not understand that de facto they are at war with Russia?   Or at the least a hostile state?

What is happening with the current conditions on the ground?

The Ukrainian army lost more than 14,000 troops in battles with Russian forces in all the frontline areas over the past week, according to the latest report on the special military operation in Ukraine released by Russia’s Defense Ministry.

The latest data indicate that the Ukrainian army suffered over

• 2,020 casualties from Russia’s Battlegroup North,
• more than 3,160 casualties from the Battlegroup West,
• over 4,420 casualties from the Battlegroup South,
• more than 3,440 casualties from the Battlegroup Center,
• 820 casualties from the Battlegroup East and
• 470 casualties from the Battlegroup Dnepr.

Therefore, the Ukrainian army lost roughly 14,330 troops in all the frontline areas over the week.

In addition, Russian forces liberated six communities in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Kharkov Region over the past week, the ministry reported.

Russia can continue this SMO or war for years.  They can decide not to stop and eventually stop at the outer borders of Ukraine right next to Poland and the other neighbors, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania.  They can flatten Ukraine and leave only the civilians.  Then, they can with the help of China and other BRICS countries, rebuild it into a country of their own liking, sans NATO, sans nazis.

Let us look at the detail of the trial balloon plan and see how utterly shallow it is.

This has been done.  It was done when the Donbass borders were supposedly under the guidance of the OSCE, shortly after the 2014 putsch.  This august Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe became immediately deaf, dumb, and blind, and they saw nothing.  So the pressure on the Russian regions continued, and the war continued. It is a non-starter.

◦ One of the newspaper’s interlocutors ruled out the involvement of US troops or contingents from the UN and other US-funded organizations;

Let’s see how long this lasts.  Once the US knows that it has lost, and the question is do they know that, perhaps the situation changes for them.

◦ Ukraine is abandoning plans to join NATO for at least another 20 years;

Russia wants a long term systemic solution and pronouncement on NATO.  This may mean NATO reverts back to its borders and the countries who joined since the US and Victoria Newland’s putch must be kicked out of NATO.  Russia wants indivisible security and the missile bases in Europe must go.

◦ In exchange, the US will continue to supply Ukraine with weapons;

There is no comment on this idiocy.  Let’s just shake our heads.  This new forming administration wants their profits from the weapons industry, but no further responsibility.

So, they think NATO countries will be accepted as peacekeepers after Russia was lied to in various attempts to continue to control it; Minsk Agreements, the previous peace agreement that was partially signed already, and lies and support for this war over the past years?
As is systemic of the administration historically, the new US team thinks only as long as their nose, and this trial balloon for a peace agreement has no value, and is undoable.  NATO has to go.  The Germans have a failed administration and will resort possibly to snap elections.  The Poles?  Let’s not insult them.  Russia will not accept the British stench at all.  The French have a relatively failed administration.

This Ukraine peace balloon popped when it left its moorings.  The shallowness of the thinking is unbelievable.
