South Africa’s GNU (Government of National Unity) is under fire

A brief history.

During the last elections, the ANC (African National Congress) could not win enough votes for a government and could not form an alliance or ally with anyone else for enough votes to form a government.    Eventually, a GNU (Government of National Unity) was negotiated with all the parties, even the small ones, based on proportional representation.  The second largest vote bloc, the DA (Democratic Alliance) is up in arms, and they will not let go.  The issue is schools and quallity of education as a result of a new Bill, called the Bela Bill.  What is underneath is of course the complete eradication of the language of Afrikaans, by making all schools English which is similar to the suppression of Russian in the Ukraine, as a start.

Needless to say, we do not need these divisionary practices from any of the BRICS countries and even less from the initial five.

This is what is happening:

The New education law in South Africa could lead to the collapse of government.

This may sound like hyperbole, but it is factual, as, without the other parties, the ANC will not have a mandate to govern, no matter how you count.

The Basic Education Laws Amendment Act would destroy the small percentage of well-functioning schools in South Africa, if implemented.
