Fascinating description by George Yeo, the former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore and one of Asia’s most respected diplomats, of what he calls the “fundamental difference” between China and the West’s approach to diplomacy.

As he describes, China has “no wish to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries” whereas the West’s approach is to “judge other countries” and to behave like “a teacher giving marks for various things”, which Yeo calls “not very wise”.
