A response to a China Writers Group Question: Ruling Class Finally Awakens to the Reality of America’s Decline

Patrice Greanville from the Greanville Post, posed this question to the group:

“Will appreciate comment from the fine minds we have in this group.”

My Response:

This kind of critique is not my favorite at all, yet, here it is necessary for more reasons than one.

The title: Ruling Class Finally Awakens to the Reality of America’s Decline
A Must-Read Analysis that Offers Hope in the Midst of an Imploding Social Order

First paragraph:

“I’ve written previously on the panic currently effervescing through the global elites, made viscerally apparent at conclaves like the Davos forum earlier this year. But in America particularly, a deep worry is now consciously gnawing the ruling class—they can see it, feel it: that the American Empire is on its last legs, close to collapse.

This month has seen a bevy of new think pieces from top American deep state figures or old-guard publications urging the changing of course, lest the country be swept away by the remorseless tide of history.”

I have no critique about the writing. What I do have a critique about, is setting together a thesis of so-called hope, and suggesting a panic, which are both emotional reactions. One cannot call panic, or hope, from a selection of US commentary. We all can pull out as many, showing a different emotion.

In addition, you cannot take hope, or panic, from a certifiably insane world. This is what the US is these days at least in their current administration, historically, and probably in any new administration to come.

They are running two wars, one being a slow suicide of the Ukrainian people, and the other a genocide. The genocidal war is probably the best-chosen war ever because it can kill masses of people, and there is no intervention from anyone.

What is it when one goes on a rampage and simply kills people by the hundreds and thousands? What do we call it when babies are being bombed to pieces so that their bodies must be collected in plastic bags with pieces hanging from trees or stuck into rubble and they have to weigh the remains to get more or less the weight of a child or a baby or an innocent? Does one find hope, or panic among the people who not only payroll that, but take part in it and are complicit in word and deed?

The insane is insane. You can’t tell them they are insane; mostly they do not understand you, or think that you are the insane one and they are perfectly sane. Here we have high-functioning insane, who know they are insane and are content being that as this allows them to be as brutal as their insane condition demands from them.

How very deeply disturbed must one be to seek hope or panic in this grouping? How easily are we conned, if we take their rantings and ravings seriously as if there is a meaning? Must we try to find a pinpoint of light for those who live there and are also fully complicit because the brutality forces them to be complicit.? “Ruling Class Finally Awakens to the Reality of America’s Decline” is the title. I mean, is there someone who cares? Have we not figured out yet that they will have to enter the agony of their own Garden of Gethsemane?

Platitudes Patrice, with minimal merit, strung together to sound good.

All the political class of the West seem to be insane.

Their societies are in a terminal decline, for example, they could not send help to Tennessee for the recent floods, yet they want further wars, with China!

Germany’s politicians have destroyed its industry: down 5.8% in a month.

German industrial production is currently more than 15% *lower* than at the end of 2017. The decline is broad-based.

In my own UK, PM Starmer, Reeves (chancellor) have no vision and are making everything worse. We need an industrial strategy of investment in infrastructure and viable new technologies, not sending billions to Ukraine and Israel. It’s nuts, but there are scarcely any mainstream voices against this.

Fear? Panic? These are the moons of Mars, of war. They are “normal” in British and American history, since that pair make war as a normal activity. fwiw the scuttlebutt is said to be that a big topic among them is how to avoid being killed by the guards they… Read more »

I agree with the criticism given, that a few comments from a few individuals cannot paint a unified picture of an elite in panic. That elite is not a homogeneous group and the individual persons in it will all differ in the degree of seeing through what is really going… Read more »

“What is it when one goes on a rampage and simply kills people by the hundreds and thousands?”

The bored, numb, idle class striving to breath pathos, and meaning, into dull lives. And they will never forgive us for forcing them to kill our children.
