An emergency Security Council meeting has been called on the Middle East / West Asia .  We have the Chinese Foreign Minister and the Russian Foreign Minister present.  Mr Lavrov called on the US and said that it is they that stop the council to do its work and will they now let the work continue.  China called for the entry of peacekeepers and Russia in different words called for the same referring to the peacekeepers present on the Blue Line .  Mr Lavrov directly said:  Some people do not want the conflict to end and israel is not adhering to international law passed by the General Assembly and the Security Council both.  All so far call for immediate implementation of resolution 1701.  That is withdrawal to the 1967 borders and Israel out of Gaza and other settlements – basically following the opinion of the International Court of Justice.

The US spokesperson has just told that decisions do not lie in the hands of the Security Council.  She is still calling for a 21-day ceasefire between israel and Hezbolla (not a word about Gaza) which israel has already rejected.  (Still quoting Oct. 7, accusing Hamas of refusing the ceasefire and the normal accusations of all except Israel – she is inadvertently making Mr Lavrov’s words the absolute truth – some do not want this war to end).

Many of the speakers at the UN General Assembly accused the Security Council of not doing their work and not carrying out their mandate.

To this backdrop the Israeli army spokesperson has just told that Israel will attack strategic hubs for Hezbollah in Beirut (again) and told the civilian population people to evacuate.  – “In the past days, we found what Hezbollah hid in the South and Beqaa’, today we will find out what is in Beirut.”
