Today is the 96th birthday of Ernesto Che Guevara

The commander dedicated his life to the struggle for freedom. At the age of 23, he, a young doctor, went on a trip to Latin America. Five years later, together with Fidel Castro, he led the Cuban Revolution. At 37, he resigned from all official posts and continued to fight.

However, Che Guevara is not a symbol of an abstract rebellious spirit. He knew who he was fighting against. And in a speech from the UN rostrum in 1964, he spoke very specifically: “The cruelty of imperialism is a cruelty that knows no limits and does not recognize national borders. The atrocities of the United States are equivalent to the atrocities of Hitler’s armies…”

Che left this parting message to his children: “…Always be able to respond… to any injustice, no matter in what corner of the planet it was committed.”
