Insane Gaslighting

Today, scrolling through the Hearty Salon, I came across two pieces of news that I knew immediately were retreads from the past, made new for now.  We know by now how the Reuters’ and CNN’s of the world create their news.  If they don’t have anything worthwhile, they make it up.  But, seeing that in our own Hearty Salon, I realized that I’ve not only seen this before, but right at the moment it is hot and heavy on the gaslighting side.

I felt relieved when I saw more of it, and more people commenting.  Take a look from Arnaud Bertrand:

US lawmakers pass bill that questions China’s claims over Tibet

They’re really going back to all the old cold war manoeuvres

China doesn’t have “claims” over Tibet: there’s not a single country in the world that doesn’t recognize Tibet as part of China (including the US government, so far…) and even the Dalaï Lama himself has repeatedly said, quote: “We are not seeking independence. We want to remain with the People’s Republic of China.”

Also hilarious that the name of the bill is “Promoting a resolution to the Tibet-China dispute act” when it’s painfully obvious that the goal of the bill is to reignite a dispute… Insane gaslighting as usual… Just like the content of the bill that aims to “actively and directly” counter disinformation about Tibet… which is obviously always a codeword for actually spreading strategic disinformation in order to fuel tensions and manufacture consent… Lastly as if this wasn’t provocative enough, the bill would make it US policy that “Tibet” doesn’t only refer to the province of Tibet (Xizang in Chinese) but also areas of Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.”

The two pieces that I saw this morning again recycled old news.  The one was about the petrodollar with the Saudis.  The Saudis joined Project mBridge and will henceforth sell oil in a basket of central bank digital currencies.  So, no more dollar for oil.  The interesting issue here is how they’re duckin’ and divin’ to hide the real ‘agreement’ for oil sold in dollars all these long years.  There is nothing there, except an oil/dollar peg.  The other was about Iran and the JPCOA, long dead.   Of course, the war lust in respect to Iran has always remained high so we can expect some ‘Iran’ in the gaslighting mix.

Take a look, it looks new but I’ve heard this for many years already:

“The International Atomic Energy Agency report shows that Iran aims to continue expanding its nuclear program in ways that do not have peaceful purposes.” This from the US State Dept. How many years have you seen this floating about?

We have to remain awake and aware.   This phenomenon is large and it will not stop anytime soon.  I was surprised at the quality of the gaslighting reports, no doubt with the copious helping hand of Artificial Intelligence, to make it make sense.

So they work together.  Don’t tell me they did not plan it!  Legislation in the US and in Canada, same day, same tired old issue:

Canada Butts In – Again: This Time In Tibet Ottawa’s lawmakers have unexpectedly passed a motion to recognise Tibet’s self-determination – another example of Canada meddling in regional affairs it has nothing to do with. The vote passed unanimously, with the Canada Tibet Committee later announcing they were “thrilled” on X.

No, it is not you who is crazy, it is the media that is trying to make you crazy.  (Sometimes we just get crazy for a while.)

Nury Vittachi from Fridayeveryday talks about this in a comical tone:

re: “US lawmakers pass bill that questions China’s claims over Tibet.” The Americans and Canadians are resorting to their instinctive imperial tactic: balkanize other nations by fomenting ethnic division and cloaking it as a crusade for “self-determination.” Divide and Conquer is fundamental to Anglo “values”–from the British Empire to the… Read more »
