Mexico is done voting and it has come out with what is a leftist government. Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum won the election in a landslide victory and became President of Mexico. She is touching 60% of the vote and her nearest rival around 26%. On her father’s side, Sheinbaum’s ancestors are Lithuanian Jews.  She is said to be uninvolved in the Jewish community.

On the South African side, it seems it is going to take some time to sort out who should govern. The ANC lost its majority decisively and horsetrading for a coalition is on, or someone might try a minority government. The constitution said that within two weeks the President must be in place.
