The Russian Missile Detection Radars

The GoTo Weapons guy in our sphere, Smoothie, considers the story around the radars as fud. That may be so and I will certainly not even try to debate it. But, what do those things do?

I don’t understand how it seems it’s too easy to hit such important radars. Are those radars not important enough to protect? Or is there something terribly wrong here?
