Argentina’s far-right “libertarian” President Javier Milei is fulfilling his promise to create an authoritarian police state Milei’s regime is expanding police and surveillance cameras. All protesters will be fined by the state Protesting his neoliberal shock therapy is a crime.

Inflation in Argentina was very bad before Javier Milei became president, peaking at 160% annually. But under Milei’s neoliberal shock therapy, it’s now disastrous hyperinflation, with a yearly rate of 3678%. He is bankrupting the vast majority of workers, who get paid in pesos.

Repression in Argentina is going to be bad. They’re openly stating it. The cases of Argentina, Ecuador, Chile and El Salvador need to be studied to avoid replicating these catastrophic scenarios in other countries.

Existing libertarianism: -criminalizing protest -threatening striking workers with “prison or bullet” -raising taxes on poor people -abolishing ministries of education, science, transport, etc. -making nepotism legal -3678% annual inflation
