Does not matter what Israel says, they are trying to negotiate on hostages, ship’napping’ by the Houthis, and they would dearly like to stop fighting the big fight now because they are getting kicked by the various resistance groups. In addition, they are not managing to expand the conflict. OK, Israel can kill more people, but that is about all. They cannot defend themselves against their own community which is now really worrying about the rate of injuries and the number of IOF soldiers being killed, perhaps not all dead dead, but certainly, the qty of wounded is growing fast. Israel’s own hospitals are refusing to hide the number of injured and killed and they are reporting.

Israel Foreign Minister Eli Cohen “Israel will continue the war against Hamas with or without international support”

Speaking at a memorial ceremony in the southern suburbs of the capital Beirut on Tuesday, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Hezbollah’s deputy secretary-general reaffirmed the Lebanese resistance movement’s unwavering support for the Gaza-based resistance groups amid Israel’s war on the besieged territory. “Hezbollah will continue striking the Israeli occupation sites on Lebanon border as long as the Zionist war on Gaza continues,” Qassem was quoted by Lebanon’s al-Ahed news website as saying.

The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 18,412 since the beginning of the Israeli aggression.

Dec 12 – As close as dammit! A Ceasefire! 

A step forward – now for a ceasefire! Israel must now protect civilians and uphold legal war laws and obligations. The General Assembly had a spate of real and heartfelt applause when the vote came in. The US was sideswiped and surprisingly Pakistan took the lead. The US was so sorry for everyone and they worked so hard to solve the problems and they give so much aid, but at the end of the day, they wanted the war to continue. It was so clear and so very pathetic! 

Pakistan cut the rope through before the vote. They said they did not initially support the resolution as they wanted to remain free to continue work on the resolution. Stop the Bloodshed they essentially said! And let humanitarian aid enter! 

It is the same resolution that was vetoed by the #US two days ago in the security council. Bear in mind, this one was a 75% requirement for a yes vote.

There was some clever maneuvering before the vote - they managed to vote first, and then the discussions. 

DD Geopolitics considers this a ceasefire. I question the exact usage of the term. It certainly cuts off the Israeli .. uhm .. I won’t say it but you all know what I mean.  

BREAKING!! UNGA Adopts Humanitarian Ceasefire

The United Nations on Tuesday called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, with more than three-quarters of the General Assembly supporting the resolution that was previously vetoed by the United States in the Security Council last week. Unlike in the Security Council, Washington does not have veto power in the General Assembly. The United States, along with Israel and eight other countries, voted against the draft resolution, while 23 countries abstained from the vote.

While General Assembly resolutions are not legally binding, they carry significant political weight by expressing a global stance on the conflict.

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Linda Thomas-Greenfield, stated that the U.S. supports certain aspects of the resolution, such as addressing the urgent humanitarian situation in Gaza, protecting civilians, and freeing hostages. However, she also expressed concerns that a ceasefire at this time could be short-lived and potentially harmful, as it may subject Israelis to ongoing attacks and hinder Palestinians’ opportunities for a better future without Hamas’ influence.

An attempt by the United States to modify the resolution to condemn “the heinous terrorist attacks by Hamas … and the taking of hostages,” and a separate proposal by Austria to specify that the hostages were held by Hamas, both failed to garner the required two-thirds majority support to pass.

Of course the question is: Will anyone stop fighting? This is not legally binding but certainly 153 member countries make strong medicine! and you ignore that at your peril! Ball is in Israel’s hands.

West Mulls Replacing Zelensky – Russian Intelligence

Discussions about potentially replacing Vladimir Zelensky as the Ukrainian figurehead have intensified, according to Sergey Naryshkin, Russia’s Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service.

After a slow start, the world is continuing to speak its truth (perhaps they are growing out of being wussies!). I said from the inception that all the UN world must sit in the corridors of the UN. They must go on a UN Strike and refuse to do any other work but Israel and Gaza and West Bank and Palestine, and command the meeting rooms until such time that Israel understands it is over – when it is over, it will be over for Israel.
