Chronicles - Sovereign Global Majority

Venezuela, Essequibo, Guyana

Yesterday, Venezuelans voted to return the province of neighboring Guyana to its native harbor. 95.3% voted for the annexation of new territories.

The province of Essequibo, where oil and gas fields were discovered relatively recently, was actually handed over to Western oil companies.

In the 19th century, the British took the province from Venezuela. Together with the neighboring territories that London had already seized from the Dutch, they formed the only British colony on the continent. In Caracas, they never forgot about their rights to Essequibo.

The new geopolitical reality that appeared to the world after February 24, 2022, provides a lot of opportunities for those who will be able to take advantage of them. And now Maduro is seeking to enter this wide-open window to resolve a long-standing dispute. Moreover, we are not just talking about a piece of the jungle. The dispute is not over territory, but primarily over resources.

While Maduro celebrates his victory, and Venezuelans walk on the streets of Caracas, the Guyanese president talks about international support and warns about the determination of his army (about 3.5 thousand people).

It is clear that American companies and the State Department looming behind them will not surrender the oil-bearing region without a fight. Especially to the heir of Hugo Chavez and “Putin’s friend.”

Latin America, where there have been no armed interstate conflicts for a long time, is becoming its own point of tension. The Fourth World War is gaining new fronts. The world continues to divide.

Evangelical crazies (Bolsonaro’s boys) have a sizable influence within the Brazilian military; they can be instrumentalized by you-know-who. A dream scenario for the Hegemon. And it may detonate a bigger war in… Read more »

I have said it before AHH, and I will say it again – IMO evangelical rapturists are the biggest existential threat to our species on the entire planet, as well as the most resourced. Interesting therefore to reflect on the fact that Trump’s cabinet and war council was more chock… Read more »

AHH, with respect I disagree, Mercuris said the other day that Washington was bleating that everyone was ganging up on them, of course they are, why would they not? “Let the Russian General Staff handle the battle plans and stay out of their way”. Why are you so sure this… Read more »

“Why are you so sure this is not part of the RGS plans to slowly boil the frog? Venezuela just added more fuel to the fire under the pot, why would that be bad for the Russians?”  Yeah, I thought of that before posting the comment. It could be true.… Read more »

AHH, would you rather find out where nations like Brazil and South Africa stand now or wait until you perhaps rely on them and be let down? I never doubted where South Africa stood, now everyone knows they are firmly in the Global South Camp, Brazil I know nothing about.… Read more »

Amarynth, the CIA for once told the truth when they said Iran was behind the Hamas/Israel conflict and Russia/China must have known in advance, why else reward them by including Iran under their nuclear shield? You do not do that to people who are trying to pull you into a… Read more »
