Daily Chronicles: Israeli-Palestinian (Gaza) Truce

The Daily Chronicles are snippets of the most important news across the world for this and each day as it rolls in – as such, this thread is non-structured with the latest news on top.

Good Lord:

Borrell says:  “Don’t give them aid as they may be killed tomorrow.”  He does not see his own non-humanity.  He is a Fanatical Nazi!

Borrell: it’s pointless to send humanitarian aid to those who will be killed tomorrow

The head of Eurodiplomacy and the champion of the “blooming European garden” made a bloodthirsty statement at a press conference in Barcelona. Borrell commented on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the need to continue humanitarian supplies even amid the IDF’s plans to resume military action.

📝”We must alleviate the suffering of the civilian population. And to do that, we need to increase humanitarian aid…. But it is pointless to give food to someone who will be killed the next day,” the euro-diplomat said.

BREAKING: As part of the ongoing raid in Jenin, the occupying Israeli army is blocking the entrances to the city’s three main hospitals: Jenin Public Hospital, Al-Razi and Ibn Sina hospitals.

At least one wounded individual has reportedly been arrested as soon as the ambulance transporting him arrived in the entrance to the Jenin Public Hospital, according to witnesses.

Ukraine SMO – today, first time in a year or more, the MoD report on the progress of the special military operation is only made up of one section and not the usual two.  So slowly this war is finishing up.  Nobody yet knows how it will actually end, but there are many armchair specialists who consider that they know. https://t.me/mod_russia_en/11063

Nov 28

Major signal that the Ukraine war is over and that the sanctions regime is fraying at the edges.

OK, I laughed till I cried! And then I played it again and cried again while I laughed till I cried – a bushy bushy blond hairdo, surfing USA.  And when the pope started singing La Bamba … oh boy I cried some more – soy Capitan indeed!  This is dangerous stuff.  How to believe our lyin’ eyes with the new technologies.

BREAKING The #Palestinian resistance, Hamas, has announced that an agreement has been reached with our brothers in #Qatar and #Egypt to extend the temporary humanitarian ceasefire for an additional two days under the same conditions as the previous truce.

(I don’t see them mentioning Israel?)

What did Elon Musk just do to himself? I’ve never considered him a ‘friend’ but now he is making enemies.

From Andrei Martyanov:  The Ukrainian TV Channel 1+1 accidentally did put out real numbers of KIAs and MIAs. Yes, recall that MIA category is a favorite one for VSU and Kiev regime–it is an artificial statistic for avoiding paying compensations and keeping whatever is left of population of 404 in the state of hypnosis. So, here it is:

1, 126,652 KIAs and MIAs for VSU. Somebody will have to answer for this atrocity and the main puppet masters sit in Washington and London and their names will be named at the Ukraine War Crimes Tribunal. Many will also be charged with crimes in absentia. In related news–this number is larger than US losses in all XIX, XX and XXI centuries wars combined. They are beyond comprehension of any US military, let alone, political figure.

Now this is the way to go!  1,000 BOATS sailing to Gaza.  What a glorious vision!

Approximately 1,000 international boats will gather in Turkiye on Wednesday before heading toward Gaza to break the Israeli blockade, Turkish media reports.

According to the report, in an interview with Turkish news website, Haber7, Volkan Okcu, one of the organisers of the protest, indicated the boats will carry 4,500 people from 40 countries, “including anti-Zionist Jews”.

Among the 1,000 vessels would be 313 boats filled with Russian activists, and 104 filled with Spanish activists, he said. Only 12 Turkish vessels will join the flotilla, he told Haber7.

Two comments that I picked up this morning.

Please do go and read some of the detail of the prisoner swop and hostage release.

West Asia front Thread, 24 Nov 2023

The hostages look well, but they are prohibited from talking to the press while the Palestinians are making a festival with thousands of pictures of families re-uniting. They were also threatened by the Israelis that if they should talk they will be arrested again.

I wish to all of those who celebrate Thanksgiving a wonderful spititual and love harvest and a wonderful time preparing and offering your harvest gatherings to friends and family.  It is not my celebration but I know it means a lot to so many!

Seems we’re going into some kind of inability to do anything.

“MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Passage through the Rafah border crossing checkpoint has been blocked for everyone due to a truce between the Hamas movement and Israel in the Gaza Strip and the evacuation will continue after the humanitarian pause is over, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS.

“Due to the declared humanitarian pause, passage through the Rafah checkpoint has been temporarily blocked for citizens of any country. After the humanitarian pause is over, the evacuation of residents will resume,” she said.”

“Israel to resume fighting in Gaza unless Hamas releases 2nd hostage group by midnight – TV
As Channel 12 reported, citing a source, the Jewish state denies all accusations against it of violating the terms of the deal for the release of hostages

TEL AVIV, November 25. /TASS/. The IDF is ready to resume the military operation in the Gaza Strip unless the Hamas releases the second group of hostages before midnight [1 a.m. Moscow time – TASS], Israel’s Channel 13 reported citing a security source.

“If the Hamas fails to release the hostages by midnight, we might return to maneuvering in the Gaza Strip,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Channel 12 reported citing its political source that Israel denies all allegations of violation of the hostage release deal.

“This is Hamas’ attempt at propaganda. Israel has fulfilled all obligations. Hamas is embarrassing the mediators in Egypt and Qatar,” the source said.

On Saturday, the Hamas military wing announced a decision to postpone the release of the second group of Israeli hostages, demanding that Israel fulfills the agreement regarding the entry of trucks carrying humanitarian aid to the northern part of the strip, and begins complying with the agreement on release of Palestinian prisoners.

Shortly prior to the publication of the statement, Al Hadath reported that the movement has already commenced the handover of hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross. According to the IDF, the group was supposed to include 13 Israelis.”

#BREAKING| Media Coverage: “Al Qassam Brigades: We decided to delay releasing the second batch of prisoners until the occupation state abides by the terms of the agreement, which are related to allowing aid trucks into the north of the #Gaza strip.

All of these little Israeli efforts to scuttle the 4 days of truce, is the same as previous.  They’ve always done it.

Nov 24 – some positive news:

“During the humanitarian pause that has been in place since this morning, the UN was able to scale up the delivery of humanitarian assistance into and across Gaza,” it said. “Hundreds of thousands of people were assisted with food, water, medical supplies and other essential humanitarian items.”

According to the OCHA, the largest since October 7 humanitarian convoy consisted of 137 trucks, which were unloaded at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reception point in Gaza.

This is still a drop in the bucket but at least it is something goof!  Before the war, 500 trucks per day went into Gaza.

Nov 24

The Israeli army entertain themselves by firing tear gas at the gate of Ofer prison, where the female prisoners are to be released today. As people arrive at the gate to receive them, they’re provided into confrontations.

Nov 24

This is the Israeli plan:  The upcoming ceasefire in the Gaza sector will be brief; following it, intense fighting is expected to persist for at least two months, stated the Minister of Defense of Israel.

Nov 23

Hamas releases 23 Thai hostages unconditionally after talks and mediation by Iran. Their release will be done regardless of the agreement between Israel and Hamas for the release of Israeli abductees

Nov 23

It looks like a 4 day truce is  go for tomorrow morning local time starting at 7am.

Nov 23

I said this just a few days or a few hours ago.  Before a ceasefire, Israel goes deliberately crazy violent.  Those who have watched this for years now, know about it.

Nov 22

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu:  “The fighting tomorrow will continue as usual.”

Israeli media: Postponing the hostage deal between Israel and Hamas stems from disagreements over technical, not substantive, matters.

Head of the Israeli National Security Council:  The release of the hostages will not take place before Friday.

Incendiary comments are flying.  The fragility of the agreement has been exemplified by stern warnings by Hamas that its fighters would “remain at full combat readiness to protect the Palestinian people and resist the occupation,” and by incendiary comments by Tel Aviv that it plans to “continue the war in order to return home all the hostage, complete the elimination of Hamas and ensure that there will be no new threat to the State of Israel from Gaza.”

And from the US they are reporting how Biden himself was a heroic secret force and part of this deal.  Yeah right!

“Much of the work was done not by the United States or by Joe Biden personally, but by Qatar,” Dr. Mehran Kamrava, a professor of government at Georgetown University’s Qatar campus, told Sputnik.
The negotiations were done by the kingdom’s prime minister, its foreign minister and “personnel on the ground,” in that order, the academic emphasized, adding that it was Doha that was responsible for “much of the difficult negotiations,” not the US.
And now we wait to see if the killing will stop.

Israeli media:

Since this morning, Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for 22 operations against the Israeli army, the largest number since the beginning of the war.

There is an important point. This ceasefire process does not include Hezbollah and does not include the Yemen front and the territories (the West Bank).

Nov 22

The Gaza Strip truce will come into force on November 23 at 10:00 am local time, media writes, citing Hamas politburo member Abu Marzuk.

Nov 22 – a 4 day ceasefire after 47 days of fighting

We seem to have a 4-day truce (no shooting except in certain places) and a hostage exchange deal in the hopper as well as exchange of Palestinian prisoners from Israel.  I would not put money on this actually happening in a clean way, but let’s take a look.

BREAKING in #Palestine

Head of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority, Qaddoura Fares says:  “The prisoner exchange deal includes the release of 350 Palestinian children and 82 Palestinian women.”

❗️350 Children❗️
in Zionist Israeli custody‼️

HOW THE HELL IS THAT OK TO BEGIN WITH?

Nov 22 – Available details about this a 4 day ceasefire after 47 days of fighting

Israel

Israel’s cabinet voted in favor of the agreement early on Wednesday morning, with Netanyahu outlining the basic details of the “first stage” of the deal in a brief statement.

“At least 50 hostages – women and children – will be released over four days, during which a pause in the fighting will be held,” the PM said, adding that for every additional ten hostages freed, Israel would pause operations for one more day.
However, Netanyahu stressed that his country would “continue the war in order to return home all of the hostages, complete the elimination of Hamas and ensure that there will be no new threat to the State of Israel from Gaza.”

All of Israel’s security agencies – the IDF, Shin Bet and Mossad – reportedly voiced support for the arrangement.  The US is also trying to re-insert itself as a broker.  Will the rest of the world allow them, after they were outed yesterday by both Mr Putin and Lavrov?

Hamas’ response?

The leadership of the Palestinian militant group issued a statement on its official Telegram channel announcing what it dubbed a “cease-fire from both parties.” It added that Israel had agreed to suspend military flights over southern Gaza for the duration of the pause, and limit air operations in the northern portion of the enclave. The cessation of hostilities would allow humanitarian aid to reach all parts of Gaza, it said.
The group also claimed that 150 Palestinian women and children currently held in Israeli custody would be freed as part of the deal, although the Israeli side did not confirm a specific number.

“The provisions of this agreement were formulated according to the vision of the resistance and its determinants that aim to serve our people and enhance their steadfastness in the face of aggression,” the Hamas statement said.

Hamas also said that any ‘truce’ deal must be on the terms of the Palestinian Resistance.  With the massive meetings going on over the past two days (BRICS and in China), and the confirmed global call for a ceasefire, Israel has to move.

The main question is will Israel adhere to its own deal?  They do not have a history of keeping to agreements.  There is a good article from Alistair Crooke on the Frog and the Scorpion, titled: Will the Scorpion Sting the U.S. Frog? I would suggest it would be a bigger frog that would be stung by the Israelis, but this time, with world opinion where it is and the world having just abandoned the UN to do their work in groups, I don’t think the Israelis will have the forgiveness that they received in previous years.

From Eva Bartlett and she is absolutely accurate: Israel does NOT adhere to so-called humanitarian truces: In January 2009, when Palestinians thought they could go get food, water, clothes, or flee to another area during a supposed humanitarian truce, Israel one day killed a youth with a precision drone strike (https://ingaza.wordpress.com/2009/02/02/all-weve-got-left-of-him/) and another day fired at least 14 snipers shots at Palestinian medics (https://ingaza.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/israeli-sniper-targets-uniformed-medics-what-i-witnessed-in-gaza/) I was with.

These are only 2 examples, but Israel’s violations of humanitarian truces and of ceasefires with willful deceit (https://ingaza.wordpress.com/2009/01/24/its-a-ceasefirejust-not-on-the-beach-not-in-your-home/) are the norm, not the exception.

Maria Zakharova lauded Qatar’s efforts to put into practice the global call for de-escalation and cease fire.

What we need to remember, is that in the past when these agreements were made with Israel, their last action before the agreed time kicked in, was no doubt a violent strike on where-ever they could strike – the more violent, the more killing, the better. Historically this is invariably their last action before they have to stop striking according to their own agreements. We also have to keep in mind that this is not a “anti-Hamas operation” Israel is waging, it is genocide in Gaza, and elsewhere in occupied Palestine it is an anti-Palestinian continuation of Israel’s decades long efforts to ethnically cleanse Palestine of its inhabitants.

Let’s see!  I can understand not mentioning the number of hostages that are slated for release but in these circumstances, I would not believe Israeli operatives at all.  There is much conversation to the effect that:

  • This “pause” is not a ceasefire. It’s a P.R. move to soften the genocide.
  • Predictably, what really matters is the “unintended consequence” of the pause:
  • The fear in the US State is that journalists will be allowed broader access to Gaza and the opportunity to further illuminate the devastation there and turn public opinion on Israel.

Formal Statements:

The explosion in Chelyabinsk looks do-able from Kazahkstan whether direct or infiltration? Michael made clear recently that big money had begun to change hands and change policies, but this looks provocative.
