News on China from Tings Chak, Donsheng news + commentary.
Despite the footsie playing between China and the US in the last few weeks and coming, this is the commentary nevertheless – This time from Danny Haiphong:
China 🇨🇳 Update:
Given that our eyes are on Palestine 🇵🇸 and rightfully so, I wanted to give my assessment on where things are with China-US relations. The United States in recent weeks has been increasing diplomatic exchanges with China, culminating in Gavin Newsom’s visit to China and Wang Yi’s visit to Washington to end October.
US empire managers are mired in two crises: Ukraine and Israel. Ukraine has lost its proxy war with Russia while Israel 🇮🇱 is on a rampage of genocide in Palestine 🇵🇸. These failures threaten the political capital of Biden and the neocons come November 2024. An easing with China 🇨🇳 releases pressure.
It’s all temporary. The U.S. has made no real commitments, and hasn’t pulled back its sanctions or military hardware in Taiwan or the South China Sea. China hawk Kurt Campbell was given a promotion to second in command at the State Department. When it’s politically feasible, war escalations against China will intensify.
