Why I Joined The ‘Special Military Operation’ – Russian Medic Interview Uncut – Part 1 & 2

This never happens – Russian soldiers do not talk.  Ivan who joined the ‘SMO’ as a Medic in the very early days tells his story. He is careful in what he says, but he does criticize.  He is interviewed by Australian podcaster, Willie OAM.

Ivan Martynov, who completed a 6-month contract as part of a special military operation, was released on the YouTube channel of Australian military blogger Willy OAM. Willy had been searching for an opportunity to interview a Russian soldier who was proficient in English. Ivan contacted Willy, leading to the interview, which, judging by the initial reactions from viewers, had a significant impact.  Within 24 hours, the video garnered over 30,000 views and received more than 2,000 comments. Many of the comments expressed gratitude towards Willy for finally providing a platform to hear the voice from the Russian side of the front, not as a prisoner of war and outside the narrative of Western military propaganda that has dominated the mainstream media.
